Shoes, that is. Sorry, couldn't resist!

I found these at DSW and deliberated for 30 minutes over these versus the black patent version, which was on sale. I love the blend of the color with my skin, and the heel height is perfect. I sized up so my blocky feet could wiggle in the pointed toe box.

But.......do the cutouts and the bow make these too "fussy" and limit their versatility? Should I look for a more streamlined pump?

And........ Can I wear them with black, as a neutral, or am I better off with a darker shoe to bookend.

Thanks! I've just popped them on with what I was wearing. No styling!

I think they look great on you, Beth Ann! You can absolutely wear them with black.
Whether you prefer the design details or a sleeker plainer look just comes down to personal preference, but if these sing to you, go for it- they look terrific. The color is a perfect nude for you, which keeps the pattern from standing out too much to keep them from being versatile.

I never thought about the fact that the match with my leg neutralizes the details on the shoes. The details are pleasing to me, but I don't want to have to have another pair of nude pumps (well, maybe suede booties) to wear with my dresses. Could I wear these with patterned dresses, for example?

I'm with una, leg lengthening to the max.

You'll find other ways to bookend your hair.

Well, the consensus is that they stay, I believe.

Una, these are about 3 1/4. They replace a pair of 4 inches that aren't comfortable at all (such a surprise). I wore these all over the store, which, at DSW is saying something, and the angle of the foot is manageable for my workday. I'll place a pad in the ball of the foot for comfort, and to keep my foot back in the heel. I've found I need to size up to wear pointed toes.

P.S. I've had to come to grips with the fact that my "nude" is actually quite a greyish taupe. And patent blends better than suede. Does that mean my legs are shiny-like?

I also thought they are a bit "fussy" from the 1st picture but I think they are not fussy at all on your feet. Great nude color for you!
I think you can wear them with black - after all you wear black with your skin color, right?
As for the bookending I think you need to see for a particular outfit if you need it.

What an instructive set of photos! If I had only seen the shoe without actually seeing it on you, I might have thought it was too fussy. But seeing it on you, I don't think so at all, and I think the details are a nice hint of your 40s fashion flair without being in the least over the top. The whole effect is neutral and leg-lengthening and if they are comfy, well--- that's the best yet!

Suz and Sveta: You are observant in noting the difference between between viewing the details up close and actually on me. I wore them to church today with my yellow wild patterned sheath, and I thought they worked well (should have taken a pic). For over 3 inchers with pointy toes they were far more comfortable than the, oh, I don't know, 40 pairs of nude heels I tried on before!

Beth Ann, I am similar in that "nude" is more like a light greyish taupe for me. The pink or camel-ish shoes that they call nude do not do it for me but something like this would. Glad you enjoyed wearing them. I also agree they can work with any pattern.

Please keep! They are beautiful and elongate the leg line. If they are comfy, I wouldn't hesitate
