I'm not normally an Express shopper, but I spied through the window of my neighborhood store a jacket that looked like the cousin of Claire's, underneath a big sale sign. Next thing I knew, I was trying on half of the store.
I brought these two items home. What do you think?
(1) merino blend dolman sweater in weird mushroomy color that I somehow like. This picture has me wearing a tank top underneath, because the weave is sort of open. I didn't love the way it felt--sort of bulky--and I thought maybe I could get away with just wearing nude-colored underthings, but when I took a picture with a flash, I saw more of myself than I wanted anyone else to have to see. So I would be looking for a better cami-type solution. Do you think chocolate brown would be okay? I have a very fitted one in that color.
(2) taupe moto jacket. I have a butterscotch-colored leather moto jacket that has been a real workhorse for me--see last photo for comparison--so I like the idea of adding another fitted leather jacket in a cooler tone. This one might be a bit boxier than I would ideally like (because I want to wear it more as a blazer than as outerwear), but there is no sizing down (this is an XS). And it's not real leather. I've never bought faux leather before. I thought this one looked okay, but I'm maybe not a good judge. The sale price was fantastic--I got it for $36!--but part of me thinks I should just return it and buy a taupe leather jacket proper, since I feel confident I would wear it a lot. I did not find one I loved on google shopping at any price range, though. There was a cute one from My Tribe but the color was much darker (more like the boots I'm wearing).
Thanks for your help.
ETA: sorry, pics #1 and 2 uploaded in the opposite order. Also, pic #3 was a WIW that I somehow never got around to posting.
