What do you think of this EF linen dress? The fabric is lovely. I have sized down already, in case you were wondering. Should I keep it?

It looks cute and comfy. But are you thinking you could go a size smaller? As you seem to be anticipating that question.

Barbara, Diane, whatever I buy, Angie says I need to size down. I can see that it’s very loose on top, but I don’t think I can go down another size. So it’s a question of whether it looks good as is.

I think it looks a little big from the front view as well. Seems to look fine from the side view.

I do like this kind of loose-fit silhouette in a breezy Summer dress, so I'm no help (and I love this style on you). But it can't hurt to try the smaller size and see how you feel, right?

ETA: It's a little hard to tell from the photos, but do you think the shoulder point is sitting a little lower on the arm than intended?

I live EF fabrics but this doesn’t seem to fit you well, whether it’s size or how it’s cut.

The side view makes the back look quite loose so I would try sizing down.

You might have to size down twice in some EF pieces...once because you're prone to buying a size too big, and again because EF can run large.

I would pass, and wouldn't bother with sizing down. I think the arms are too floppy or something.

Sigh of relief! Glad you are returning this, it’s too big. I think the neckline is a bit big also. No one mentioned that, but I think that, plus the shoulder fit creates an awkward fit. Sorry, the next size smaller isn’t available.

I agree with the advice to size down again. EF can run really big sometimes. I have worn a XS in them, and we all know I ain’t no XS!

Oops, just saw that the next size down isnt available. Bummer!

JAileen, I found this dress on the EF site and it looks like the the shoulder seams are over the shoulder point on the model. In fact it looks about the same on you as the model. It is supposed to be a bit oversized and boxy, probably for hot weather. How do you feel about the dress? I passed up a white heavy linen dress for the same type of fit and now, in the heat of summer, I am kicking myself for not getting it. Can you wear this dress without a slip?
Could you wear it as a beach cover-up?

It does look a similar fit to the model in the body but the sleeves/shoulders on yours look bigger. Have you ironed it yet? If you ironed the dress it might sit better around the shoulders.

The smaller size just became available and I ordered it. I’ll post comparison pictures when it comes.

YES!!! I look forward to seeing you in the smaller size which I predict will still be roomy and comfortable on you. I am learning to try nearly everything in two or three sizes because it is amazing the difference in size can make even if it is not one's normal size. The last couple of EF items I've bought I've had to size up because the shoulders were cut so narrowly -- and shoulders tend to be one place that are often too big for me. Go figure.
