Like Goldenpig, I cleaned out my closet yesterday. I had to clear out 99% of my jackets and skirts, and started making a wishlist. Today I was hoping to find a skirt I saw on the Macy's website, but instead I found this denim blazer, which is a style that's on my list. It's lightweight, easy care, and would be a near-exact replacement for one of the jackets I had to relocate to my standby closet. My 7-year-old son squealed that he loved the jacket on me and would not let me leave the store without it!

I like the fit and the cut. There are two things that concern me: the standing collar and the flouncy back. Now, I LOVE flouncy backs, but I also just got that orange blazer with the peplum back. Is there room in a wardrobe for more than one fancy back? I wear jackets/blazers like cardigans, casually, almost every day of the week in the winter. I tend to prefer casual fabrics like knits and denim, so the orange jacket will most likely not get worn as often as a denim one.

OK, now to the neckline. The standing collar feels a little vampire-y to me. I put this jacket back on the rack twice because of it. In the end, my son won the battle and I'm not sure I'm disappointed. Thoughts?

Here's the jacket on the Macy's site (eta: oops, link didn't work. it's web ID 946313).
