K/R: Current/Elliott BF jeans

So I went shopping for dresses today and came home with some BF jeans. (And I would have bought the Hinge bomber jacket but they did not have the size I wanted...)

Anyway, I got these Current/Elliott light wash distressed BF jeans. I've been looking for a light wash summer BF. These are sized up one size and are very big in the waist. I've slouched them down quite low here - I should have added a belt, which is how I would normally wear them. They are not long enough to wear unrolled, but that's OK. I love that I can scrunch them to clamdigger length and they will stay there. The fabric is very soft, and I am pretty sure they will relax a little bit with wear, so I don't think I'd want to go any bigger.

I like them but I would also like to see another size up - they may be big in the waist but look pretty fitted in the back.

These look great on you. I like the color although I have a poison eye for distressing that includes holes, but that's a personal bias. If this is your style, keep.

I hate to do it, but I'm going to be a downer on this one. I don't like the way the crotch folds over on itself. I think your other BF jeans are a million times better.

Hmm, mixed reviews so far.
Sveta, this is how my gap BFs fit too... I guess I like the front to be slouchy but not the butt. In any case, there was no size up available to try... (these are from the rack).
Joy, holes don't bother me. These would be for very casual summer looks.
Rae, ah the crotch thing. I can't decide if it's just the way the light color photographs? My Gap BFs do have a bit of a crotch fold as well but they are a dark color with low contrast stitching... These do not do the plum-smuggling v-shaped bulge, which would be instant NO for me, but I do see your point.

Added a couple of photos with a belt up top in better light. Any better?

I like them scrunched as clamdiggers but not as BF length. I don't think they fit well in the hip, the back almost looks too tight and the front kind of droopy.

Hmm, I'm not sure I'm loving the fit from those first photos either, but the pics with the belt make me wonder if its the lighting rather than the jeans themselves, because those look pretty good.

I think I'm with Rae here - when you pull them down at the waist, the crotch still stays rather high, causing some strange folding. Sorry : (

C/E are not cheap ... and these are not worthy of you or the money spent on them. I'd try sizing up or another company altogether. I do prefer them pulled up on you, but they're still off in some way to my eye. Sorry!

Yeah, I think I may have been seduced by the color/wash, to be honest. I do not own any other true light wash jeans, because I find the vast majority of light washes to be ugly (something about the seams on light washes always looks weird to me) and this is a very nice wash.

Diana, I totally understand! I am really, really picky about light washes and dislike most of them on me. I bought a pair of light wash but cropped length jeans at Anthro recently and should probably post them here for feedback.

Keep looking. I'll keep an eye out for you too. I like the fading and distressing on this pair, so I think you and I have a similar aesthetic on these jeans.

I'm sorry to say I'm not loving these for you Diana - I think you can do better. I do love the idea of a lighter wash for summer though.

Well, I'm a spanner. I love them. I have a pair of CoH boyfriends that are pale, super soft and nice, and comfy, and I wear them A LOT. Depending on the price of these, I think they are just fine.

Hmm, mixed reviews (more nays than yays, but one of the yays is Angie...). I'm thinking I might need to style these up (with shoes anyway, since BF jeans always look off w/o shoes to me) and take more photos in good light before making a final decision.
