Wow, the Just Female are in the lead! However I am so loving the Acne… and the price was very good, given they are silk, well made, and from a designer brand that I hugely admire. Do I have designer goggles on? Probably.
Do any of you think I could justify the Acnes as a fancy, going to the opera outfit? If so, what kind of top should I combine them with? Or, are these just not suitable for my very short waist? I could see these looking amazing on a long waisted pear, not a short waisted pear leaning hourglass like myself.
Many thanks to all of you for the kind words about CocoLion.
Looking back, she had been unwell for a while. First, she seemed to be aging much faster than her sister. Second, she started isolating herself, wanting to be alone, hiding under the house. I am so busy, and it is so hot, that I didn't notice it. Our dogs are always lethargic this time of year. On Saturday morning, she vomited her breakfast. When I greeted her in my normal manner, she seemed miserable, not like herself. For the next few days she wouldn't eat, and continued to hide under the house. We were very concerned and decided to take her to the vet to see if she had consumed a plastic bag which could have been fixed (dogs do this and it shuts down their system). Her breathing was so labored, this concerned me from Saturday on. When we took her to the vet, my brother had to crawl under the house on his belly and drag her out. I am still sad that she had to pass at the vet's office but she was suffering badly and taking her home and letting her go gradually seemed harder for her. On a lighter note, she was her alpha self to the end. In the vet's waiting room she did not like a pair of American Bull Dogs, and disciplined them immediately. Yes, between those two, an enormous Great Dane the size of a pony, a cat, a German Shephard and a mixed breed she was the Queen of that waiting room.
Maybe I should have posted this in Off Topic… but somehow it felt indulgent, which is exactly what I am doing now -- going on about her, indulging in my feelings. Here are some more pictures of her, through the years. I'm still looking for her puppy pictures.
1 - April 2011, with Bernie (hit by a car in July 2011) and sister Maggie in back. The labs were 4 years old.
2, 3 and 4 - October 2013.
5. March 2014, with Robbie who is her older adopted brother (age 8). She still bossed him around. I think she's letting him know who's boss here, but in a gentle way.
