K/R cream mesh tunic top?

Hi Ladies,
Could I please have some honest opinions on this new top?
It has an attached long grey cami in a breathable material, and the mesh is cotton.
I would like to wear this on hot days for a bit of arm coverage whilst still being cool.

A bit out of my comfort zone, so I would love to hear your thoughts

Lyn, this top is just lovely. It reads very modern and current to me. It also reads quite dressy to me but of course as you have styled it here, you can "Casualise" it too

I would love to see this tried over a midi tube skirt with the same sandals.

I have been looking at the pics for a few mins because I found my eye was so crazy about the pairing with the crop jeans and I couldn't work out why. I am still not sure but it might just be I feel the top is almost to dressy for the crop jeans....oh I just had a vision (lol) this top could look amazing over a pair of culottes! You have a lovely slim frame that would allow you to totally work the volume over volume look.

I am leaning towards keeping. I think its a bit special

How hot is there today?? I just want to lay on the floor on my cool tiles!!

Thanks Deborah, it is pretty hot here too- about 30 I think!
You read my mind- I thought about trying it with a skirt too but forgot at the time, and culottes- haven't tried this shape yet but just might give them a go next Autumn.
Funny, it didn't seem dressy to me when I first saw it- probably because the cotton mesh is a bit RATE.

First impression only is that it feels a little too long for you Lyn. I'd like to see it styled with pants or a skirt too though. I really like the side view

Ditto what Caro says, the side view looks great, but the front and back look a bit long, weird huh. Having said that I do love the top so hope you can find a way to wear it that you are happy with - is it my imagination that you do seem hesitant about this styling?

This is how I thought I would style this top- I hadn't noticed the length particularly- but will try it on again with the length in mind before I decide.

I like this top also, but it is too long for you, and creates a leg shortening effect. Not that it would be difficult to shorten and re-attach the edging. I'm imagining it would look great on you with a cigarette leg pant. The colour is nice and fresh for summer and suits your colouring. Additionally, you could wear it with different coloured camisoles underneath to create all sorts of looks, or to compliment whatever else you wear with it.

Lyn just popped back because I was thinking about length of this top. Upon first look I also thought it was a little long, but looking again I am not sure it is too long:). I think this top could definitely work in what most of us might perceive to be a more unconventionally flattering look to create what we often refer to as JFE. The more I look at it, the more I like it for you. It's a little different for you but still very much in keeping with your style.

I think the top is very pretty and flattering. I was a bit thrown by the crops too though and think it is the vertical proportions. With the right support, this top would definitely warrant a killer ranking.

Proportions are not my strength, but the length of the top does not bother me. You have a column of color with no grinning and I like the length of the top with the length of the crops. I do see what the other ladies are saying about it not being a lengthening look, but I would put it in the jfe category. It's so hard to find fab tops for the summer! P.S. Is that a gsp by your side?

I really like this. Yes, maybe not the most conventional proportions but definitely more than JFE. My hand knit linen "matrix" sweater fits like this.

I find this top just special..I don't think it is too long rather that the length adds to the style...It wouldn't be as chic if it were hemmed..rather it would be a white top that graces the hips...Keep it and play with style...I see this as a piece that you will reach for when you want a different look...
Your baby is adorable standing almost at attention...Did you have to say, "sit" to achieve that one?...smile..
And hot enough to lie on the tiles..I will take that...

I think it's a dash long over high contrast bottoms, Lyn. Probably fine over a column of white though.

Meredith and Crutcher-my GSP just likes to be near me at lot of the time, and chooses her own poses for my pics, often stealing the show!
DEB- Thanks for your honest feedback about the length.
I think I am going to 'Keep', with all your thoughts and styling suggestions in mind.
It may become a more trans-seasonal piece so as to wear with longer pants and toppers, but is definitely a bit different and fun!
