K/R: Cobalt snake Equipment sweater

I used my 10 point day with this cashmere sweater because I could not resist the print. It runs big but I like that... Thought I should add blue to my sweater repetoire, although this also comes in three other gorgeous colors. Honest feedback please - too square/loose/OTT/anything else? Unflattering? Off my style radar? UWP enough? Can be dressed up or down - do you agree?

Okay, I really love the sweater and think you'll enjoy it!

I think I have the faintest of lightbulbs glowing above my head, and if I read it right it says: this is why we buy only a few fantastic $$$ items, so we can wear the heck out of them and not be reluctant to move on in a year or few when
a. it shows wear
b. we're tired of it
c. our tastes evolve
d. it starts to look dated
e. all of the above

and if none of those happen, it happily stays in our closet and gets used

One of the other things I've been considering is what holds value and can be consigned - not that I'm planning ahead of time to get rid of things, but certain brands and styles seem to remain in circulation longer.

But yes, I will say that for every item that's come in, at least 10 thrifted or worn-out items have gone out in the last year! The more I love my new stuff, the more I'm willing to let go of the old. Backward purging?

Hm... I think this particular size may be either too big or too small. It is not quite a slim/slouchy fit and not quite an oversized/drapey fit. At least with the skinnies. Have you tried it with your bootcuts? That might work better.

ETA: I DO love it though. The color and print in cashmere? Way fab.

That was my concern. This is S. I could go down to an XS but I don't want to lose the slouch. Or maybe it's too long for me? It's the same length as my citron sweater but a slightly more boxy shape.

On the other hand, I do not need more of the truly oversized sweaters which I have already!

Hmm, my store has it in XS in yellow. Maybe I can go try it on for size comparison and exchange if it's better. Thanks for being honest, Rae!

I really like it, and I'm not at all sure that a different size would be better. It seems pretty perfect as is. But it can't hurt to try the other sizes just to be sure.

I also would like to see it in the smaller size. I think bigger will look good too but as you said you already have lots of oversized items.

I really like it on you and I think the fit is good for a more slouchy look. My only thought is, it quite reminds me of your emerald equipment blouse, and I know it's a cashmere sweater, so totally different material, but it has the same look to me. So it's a slight duplication in my books, but if you're not like me and can't stand duplication, your fine. For me, I would have had to go for a solid sweater or something. Looks great on you though! I suspect you're not as neurotic about duplication as me, so I think it's a beautiful color on you and looks really great!

I don't think it looks too big for you. How does it fit in the shoulders? Better to size up and have it a little big for a slouchy fit than to size down and (God forbid!) you eat too much over the holidays and gain 5 lbs., then it is too small
I always try on two sizes for comparison, so if you can get the other size and try it, I would do that and then make up your mind.
But I think it looks great on you as is

I had this in my shopping cart but balked because of the price and my lack of need for it. (Yeah, like I *need* any more clothes at all!) So I'm biased because I already loved it! But I do think this looks really fantastic on you. I wouldn't change the size, I don't think. You could go smaller if you want a sweater with a more fitted silhouette (I was thinking of a small for myself, but I think we often take the same size in tops), but I like this slightly generous size on you. Especially the partial tuck.

Angie, I did see the green! There is no color of this sweater I wouldn't wear. But I did think of what RunnerRae said with duplicating the green snake shirt... What do you suggest? And thanks for chiming in with your arm troubles... I appreciate it.

Shannon, I have purged a bag of stuff each week with these new purchases. I think the kitchen remodel is helping - I have lots of spare time in the house and we got rid of old kitchen stuff which felt so good!

I love the color on you, and the print in cashmere is amazing!

I think the boxy fit works for you. It is somewhat similar to your Equipment shirt, but a different color and texture.
