So the Lands End "wrought iron" cargos just don't work for me. After trying a few stylings I realized pretty quickly that the color and style was just not right.
The pants looked much darker in the Lands End photo by the way. They are pretty true to the color I'm showing in my pics IRL.
I could have tried the cargos with lots of other colors but it was the basic color of THEM that was the problem for me. It just didn't feel like "my" color or my style. And my closet is full of navy, whites, grays (warmer grays), burgundy, green, etc. I had too much trouble matching them to anything and feeling like it worked.
I'm pretty sure I'm keeping both the Born sneaks and the jacket but I included them as a sort of K/R for lack of a better description for this post. I think they will get a lot of wear this fall and winter.
Pic 1 - I tried the cargos with my cognac ankle boots and belt and felt way too "military" or masculine for my liking. Clunky boots plus cargo pants is not my style. I also didn't like the way the color of the cargos looks so weird blue/green/gray instead of just charcoal gray.
Pic 2 - Tried them with my navy arrow print blouse and gray ballet flats for a more feminine attempt. Still didn't like at all.
Pic 3- Tried them with the cognac Born sneaks just for comparison purposes against the same outfit with my BF jeans. The BF jeans combo won by a mile and half.
Pic 4 - The North Face jacket in eggplant with the same sneaks in navy (I think I'm keeping both the cognac and navy sneaks as they are so comfortable and if I change out the laces I can get other looks). The jacket is VERY warm for Texas so it is perfect for my winter. It's not my only jacket but it is also very comfortable and I love the big pockets for hand warming. I was too hot by this point to show it zipped up.
Edit- included lands end cargo photo for color comparison
