K/R burgundy skinny coated jeans

Hi fabbers. I posted from the store while trying these pants. I bought them but was still deciding so took a bunch of pics (sorry for the volume) with different tops, shoes, boots, jackets to do a KR. I also took a close-up of the pants beside my black leather pants and it is even more obvious in person that they are almost indistinguishable from leather. They are a bit loose but I have come to the conclusion that fitted isn't me in anything but jeans and I am more comfortable in a slightly roomier fit.

I tried them with pewter oxfords and included a pic for the top. I know these oxfords don't work but should work with the black leather and similar tops. I also tried them with OTK boots. I have another pair of SE tall black boots that might be better but I put on the first pair my hands touched.

I usually try to pick the best picture but this time since I wanted opinions on how they look, I kept a few of the "other" ones.

So, here they are. If you think they need to go back and don't want to hurt my feelings, feel free to use the vote option. Are they keepers or should I set them free?

They are really nice pants, I pretty much like them with all the tops. They look kick a$$ with the otk boots! Killer.

Well, I think they are terrific, and if the comfort factor is there and they are not a PITA to care for, I say keep! I like most of these options, but especially 1, 2, 3. To my mind, they work best with something that has a different (apparent) texture - silk, maybe a nubbly knit -- not a lot of leather or leather -like stuff. But that might be a personal tic.

I am taking notes as I have a similar pair of jeans that I am wondering about. I like yours best with the longer tops in 1, 7, 8 and 10. There seems to be a bit of bunching at the crotch in the photos that the longer tops cover.

Very cool pants! I think they look great on you and I say if you like them - keep! My only observation when I first clicked on your photos was wondering if they were a little too long for you? The bunching in the lower leg area looks a little "off" to me when you have them paired with the short booties. Can you smooth them out? Also, I prefer them with the semi-tucked or un-tucked tops the best - and like Suz, with those tops that have a visible texture difference from the jeans.

I think these look great, particularly in 10 (looks as if the jacket color is similar to the pants and keeps the top connected with the pants and works with the boot proportions). As Marley noted, I see the bunching in the lower leg, but that probably is remedied with smoothing down the fabric plus oxfords or taller boots vs the booties.

What is your hesitation about keeping them- duplication, fit, color?

Thank you for the feedback and suggestions. I was trying to pick a cross section of boots/booties and the first pair seemed to be too tall and too short.

Tania, I had planned to mention that my 53rd birthday is coming up and I was a bit concerned about looking like I was trying too hard or attempting to recapture some long off days.

The crotch crinkles are probably because they are a bit loose so there is a touch more fabric than needed but I much prefer a bit of fabric to a snug fit. I only have another two pounds or so to lose so the fit shouldn't change.

I haven't cut the tags yet but am close.

Oh my gawd. Those are 1) amazing and 2) amazing on you.

I just bought a pair of waxed coated skinnies in black...but I want those!

If you want to set them free, I will take good care of them, promise.

PS - Why would they have to go back? Are we looking at the same pictures??!!?

Brooklyn and Wendy, they are 7 for all Mankind mid-rise skinny coated jeans. I believe they come in burgundy an olive and possibly black.

May be s spanner because I think though you look fab, I'm very sensitive to the crotch wrinkles which sometimes feel like s rate- limiting feature to me. I think the shinier crisper texture accentuated that. With your trim figure the pants look great , whereas for me iI feel it draws attention right to hip area, so it's just something for which I don't know where to draw the line on what's normal or to be avoided.

I vote keep. The crotch lines don't look too weird. Neither do they accentuate your hips. They fit well overall.

I've spent the weekend trying to find white jeans and I've realized that if I opt for a mid-rise jeans, which is what I feel comfortable in, crotch wrinkles are unavoidable. Lose low-rise jeans are just NOT something I'm comfortable in....

The jeans look real good. Keep them.

They look great on you. I especially like 2, 5, 6 and 10. The color is fantastic. Do you wear green, teal, or aqua? Some shades of those colors might work nicely, too.

I really like them too. I am going to look into the olive pair for myself.

I like them on you. I am partial to the stylings with non-leather tops and jackets -- just to prevent that head-to-toe leather look. I also prefer the stylings with darker boots. I think the fit looks great. In my experience, even slightly loose waxed jeans have a little wrinkling at the crotch, especially because the shiny surface emphasizes it in photos. I'd rather see slightly loose waxed jeans than ultra tight ones these days anyway.
