K/R Bright Blue Pants

After crashing and burning with my Faconnable grey ankle pants so I'm trying these Vince Camuto blue pants
Here they are on Nordstrom:

Below they are on me. Am I in denial that I can wear this style with my apple belly?
1 is how I'd likely wear them (untucked for sure), but 2 is how they fit tucked which is what I'm not a fan of. They seem to look better to me in the mirror, but I may be projecting because I want them to work.
3 is the side for Angie's review. And you get no back shot cause I'm a front girl. Worn with nude kitten heels just for length.
Keep looking? Give up on this style? Too short? Too long? Too ice cream cone?

I thought they were great with the untucked top, not bad with the tuck from the front but you lost me with the side view. This is in no way you. Slash side pockets don't work on anyone (in m y opinion) that isn't a slim rectangle. The pockets have a tendency to pull open and add volume.

The color is gorgeous and I really like the slim cropped leg on you. Try to find a pair that has pockets that are angled more like jeans in the front.

That colour is really LOVELY on you, Jeanne; but I do think the pockets will restrict what you can wear with them, even untucked --- you'd have to make sure the fabrication and hemline of your top always camouflages them, which is really a tough ask when you sit down, bend over, etc. So unless you've tried several of your tops out with these and done those actions comfortably, I'd say pass and keep looking.

I love the colour of the pants but am not that keen on the fit. I would personally prefer to see a wider leg on you and would also prefer them full length. The first picture looks ok though so you could surely wear them like that, but I don't like them tucked in....

Beautiful color but the fit seems off -- they are pulling at the crotch. It's not lovely you, it's the pants. I vote return.

I like them! If you're wearing a top untucked the pockets aren't so much of an issue. I have a very similar body build, and what I do sometimes is to stitch pockets closed to give more of slim line. You could try pinning them and see what you think. What sort of top would you wear with them?

I like the colour and they look nice with the top untucked. Go for them if that is how you plan to wear them

I like them with the unucked shirt. I love the color and I think you can rock cropped pants. If you want ones you can tuck into, maybe keep looking? A side zip pant would be super flattering, but IDK if they are making them like that right now.

I am on the fence on this because I happen to have a poisoned eye for this type of tapered style of pant.

However, there is a beauty in the style that I can appreciate. I prefer the untucked version and you can always have the pockets sewn shut by a tailor. It is a very inexpensive alteration.

Also, I think you might need an edgier type of shoe to bring this together, IMO. A good example is MaryK's post with her comptoir suit. She was wearing her docs. I think Annagybe pulls off this type of pant quite well too.

Hmm, I really like the color and I don't mind the length with your pumps here. But I am on the fence for the shape of this trouser on you. I'd love to see a straighter leg version instead of this tapered version. I do prefer this with the untucked versus tucked top.

Jean, I like your look in photo 1 and the bright color is beautiful. I don't have a lot of experience with cropped pants, but the nude heels you show here are nice and lengthening. Fwiw, slant pockets stick out on me, too, so these pockets can be a challenge.

The pants are a beautiful color on you and you can certainly wear it untucked. Good point about stitching the pockets shut! I have some pants with the side slash pockets and I don't love mine but haven't replaced them yet. The nude shoe is leg lengthening but a red pump or a yellow pump might make look even nicer.

I've had a couple pairs of pants now with the side slash pockets that I've taken to my tailor to remove the fabric inside that makes the pocket completely and stitch shut the opening. It works very well in giving you that flat silhouette.

I do love that color on you and the untucked shirt surely works... But in the side view I have to vote return, the cut at the bottom of the pocket seems to pull and even if the pocket were stitched closed I am not sure this would be resolved, and of course then you couldn't return them...

I am a cranky broken record when it comes to pants fit: I just prefer a looser fit with no, or very little, whiskering, so to my eye, these pants don't fit optimally. I think black pants help to obscure fit issues and whiskering, but colorful or lighter pants don't, making them harder to fit IMHO.

I'm on team return - even if you stitch closed the pockets I don't think the fit through the front thigh and crotch is quite right. Great color, though.

LOL, I guess I'm a little late on this thread. Pants are so tricky, aren't they! I loved the color, too bad they didn't work. I can't wait to see the puffer coat, though!
