I'm on the hunt for a replacement for my black ponte knit sheath dress as it's getting quite raggedy and ordered this one from Banana Republic (thanks for the link Anna!) before going on my shopping ban.
First off - the fabric is delicious! It is so incredibly soft and just skims over your body beautifully. The v-neck is the perfect depth - not too low for work, and has faux leather trim. The waist nips in and has a couple of tucks so that the dress actually goes over my hips quite nicely. It is machine washable (key for me) and hang to dry.The arm holes are a little big on me but part of that is where the dress was folded and there's quite the crease there plus Wonder Woman can take that in a bit no problem. IMO the fit is quite good - there's a bit of extra fabric in the upper back but that's very common for me due to my extremely short torso and to be honest, not a deal breaker for me. This is a petite and I like the length on me.
So over to you - what do you think? I'm considering this as primarily a work dress with various toppers but could also be worn in a dressier environment on its own.
