K/R BR bird dress - YouLookFab Forum

Hi all, it's been ages since I posted a photo here... a few changes on the top of my head!

Would love some feedback on this dress. Something about it appealed to me online, so I thought I'd give it a try. I pulled my hair back to show maximum silverness, since that's the colour I'll be working with! Minimum make up, and no hose - limited time these days, just couldn't be bothered :).

I'd love feedback. Does it work? Is it too short? Too much pattern? If you like it, what do you think of these styling options? I have to admit, it's really comfortable... but I'm afraid I look dumpy. Feeling a bit dumpy these days, still have some summer/fall crazy conference weight still to come off...

I find it a bit short as is. Could you wear it with leggings underneath?

Oh, the silver is pretty on you! I like the dress and agree with suggestions so far.

Is it dipping in the front? It looks like it might get drafty in the back based on the drape of the fabric. I think it might go better with tights though - if so, it won't matter if it dips.

I would definitely wear it with tights or leggings... just feeling lazy with my trying on efforts ;).

If you are in love with it, keep it.

If not, I would return it. It requires a lot of maintenance in my book to look good and feel good. I honestly think you can do better.

I was eyeing that one too, but ultimately I decided it was too short for me. I think it looks better with dark hose or leggings or something.

The print is lots of fun, but I think the slightly short length is exacerbated by the shaped hem. It might be better with leggings or tights. Is the dress the same fabric as the BR top in the same print? I tried the top and the fabric was pretty light, but the print was still as cute. Maybe worth a shot?

It has a pretty drape, and the print is fine--that looks good on you--but it is too short to give you good proportions.
I hear the tights rec's, but then it's a tights-only dress, and I still think the proportions, with the waist, are too chopped up. I'd keep looking if you really want to wear it as a dress and not a tunic. That's my poison eye, though, for these types of dress lengths especially when divided at the waistline.

I agree with Thistle. There is something about the proportion that is not 100% flattering imo.

I am with Caro & Thistle. The print is great on you (and you look fabulous with your silver coming in!) But the dress's shape is less than flattering and it looks like one that might require constant readjustment during the day -- a major pain.

I like it in #2 with the wide black belt and would prefer it with a summer flat shoe. I think the dress looks too summery for heavy boots and toppers.
