K/R booties for boyfriends - YouLookFab Forum

So I am in the 3rd year of what seems like a perpetual hunt for a "nude" bootie that can help me transition skirts and boyfriend jeans to fall. I've tried for several years and have come up empty handed. They have to meet the following criteria (in my mind):

- stable enough to walk in while carrying/chasing kids
- close to my skin tone
- medium-height stacked heel
- not crazy expensive since this is a new style for me and I'm not sure how much I'll wear it

I have been eyeing the Joie Dalton, but it has both a very high heel and a very high price tag. I did just buy the "splendid Roland", which I got for a very good price.

Is the fit at the ankle of the Rolands close enough? I have pretty small ankle and these swallow them up a bit, but I have yet to find a pair that doesn't...

I think the fit is fine with the jeans. I'm not sure about that nude for you. I think it reads a little too cool for your skin tone. I prefer the nude color in your bf jeans post. I'm no expert though and will defer to others.

This is the same boot in all three photos, right? I see what kelly means- they look a very different colour in the pic with your skirt. But.....all that aside, I like them a lot, think they look good on you, and seem to fit well.

I can relate to your ongoing search - I've been on the same one. But all of a sudden this fall there are more options than ever before. i found cute lower heeled ones in Aldo yesterday, and may even repeat my Rag & Bone Harlows in taupe (there are tons of knockoff s out there of this style - its; a great walking,chasing, standing boot) . I found the taupe-ier version of nude a really easy shade to work with.

I don't think that booties must match skin tone that closely (unlike nude pumps)
I am very fair and own these esprit wedges, in reality they are more of the taupe color. But I don't wear them bareleg, only with jeans, or oatmeal skirt and grey pantyhose - some kind of monochromatic look.

to my eye the fit is good, and thing with the skirt may be white color. Other color but white could look better.

I like them with your jeans. The cool colour is more obvious with the skirt. Not sure that matters.

They look good to me, although I do kind of see what people are saying about the color.

If you want another possible option, I have these Madewell ones, which are a little lighter in reality than in the picture, and really like them. They have a stacked heel and are stable enough to hold up to lots of walking.

I don't know exactly what height is exactly medium height, but I own the Sam Edelman Petty booties in putty color and they're super comfortable. I think the heel is about 1.5 inches. I've worn them all last year and plan to wear them this fall with boyfriend jeans and white jeans. Hope you find your perfect booties this year!

I am not sure that matching skin color to a bootie is required - I think "low contrast" puts it into "flattering enough" category.
The ankle fit would be more of a deal breaker to me with skirts that the color.Higher heel helps but I would prefer to see a closer fit on the ankle with the skirt. On the other hand it is hard to judge from this detail photo - can you take a full body shot in the skirt from the side: maybe the gaping is not that pronounced after all?
