A black puffer is an essential for my winter wardrobe: black is my main winter neutral and I live in an urban environment and walk a lot, so black is often easy and no-brainer. I do have other puffers in other colors, but still tend to wear the black one the most. My current black puffer needs to be retired after ~10 years of constant wear, so I need a new one.

I was hoping a for a new one around knee length (no longer than just below the knee), so I tried this Bernardo version Ange featured recently in a roundup. Unfortunately, it is longer on me than the model (I am 5'6"), it hits me about 5" longer than just below the knee. I am trying to decide if I can get away with this length or it is too much/unflattering on me. In the first two photos you can see it worn open and closed over cropped jeans and flat black booties, which is the combo I am likely to wear most often with it. Third photo is with 2" heeled booties, the second most likely possibility. I have a couple of midi wool coats and have no issues with those, but now that I think about it they are almost always worn with a small heel. Also, please ignore the loose fit in the torso - I threw it over a long sleeve tee, but it would be worn mostly with thicker sweaters and it fits just right over those.
