k/r black leggings

Hey everyone, I need your help on legging fit! I was raised to be a sale shopper and have always gotten more of a thrill over a good deal than fit and I am determined to break that cycle. As fall approaches I will probably have lots of questions about pant and sleeve lengths.

First up, black leggings with faux leather detail. Length looks good to me, love the view from the side, but the fabric creases in front of the crotch. Is this normal for zip up leggings? Fixable with a belt? Only one size available so I can't size down. Sorry for the weird pic, the one where I'm walking away from the camera turned out to be the best illustration if the problem.

Hi Meredith - those "leather" panels are awesome on these leggings - but I can see in the pic your concern about the fit at the crotch area. I'm not sure what causes that - but in my experience it has to do with the rise. How are you planning to wear these? I don't think that the crotch on leggings usually shows when styled with an outfit - so it probably has more to do with your comfort level with that bunchiness rather than how they look. I guess it depends on how picky you want to be. Also, you mentioned belting them? I've never heard of leggings that have belt loops - do these? If so, then I would guess that they are meant to be worn as pants - which would definitely put them into the Return category!

Marley, good point about the legging vs pant issue. These do have belt loops so maybe they are ponte pants and not leggings. I suppose I'm open to either. You're right that I will probably only wear longer tops with these.

I have a pair of ponte pants with similar faux leather striping (I wear mine with tops that cover most/all of the crotch); they have a little bit of that issue you're pointing out at the crotch, but not as much as shows in photo #1. I'd guess it's a rise issue (as Marley said) or perhaps that the fit above the hip is a bit large on you so it sags down. If you were planning to wear with longer tops then I don't see it as an issue, with shorter tops perhaps it might be.
