K/R: Black Booties - YouLookFab Forum

Hi all!
I hope you are enjoying your summer, or winter if that's where you are:) I had decided to skip the end of season sales this year because I have more than enough already, and keep my money for fall/winter additions, but then something happened.

One of my favorite brands has a pair of beautiful sleek booties in its spring collection, and now they are on deep discount. I placed them on my wish list months ago, but they were way too pricey for me. Now I've ordered them anyway because I get a 70% discount - yay! I've tried them on, and they fit me really well. I don't mind the height.

My question: Do you think they are too similar to my other heeled booties? I have a pair of suede stone booties, and a dark brown pair in leather.

What do you think? Will a pair in black leather be versatile for me, or am I making an unnecessary duplication? I wear the other two pairs a lot.

That looks like an ideal black bootie, Ingunn, and I would think that it would be very versatile. I don't see it as a duplicate as the heel looks to be a bit more shaped and the toe is more pointed than your current pairs. And such a fab buy! I vote keep.

Seems these will fit nicely into your wardrobe...not too much the same at all...black will be versatile and I love the shape of the toe. Score!

My fall/winter wardrobe would not function without black booties, so I could be biased, but I don't see these as too similar to your other pairs. As for versatility, do you find yourself wishing you had black booties to complete an outfit?

I have been missing a pair of heeled black booties. Black footwear is a staple for me, and I also have heeled tall boots, two pairs of Chelsea boots (sleek and casual) and a pair of casual flat riding boots. They are for various weather and temperatures. I think these new ones will be worn a lot with trousers and jeans at work. I don't think they will work well in temperatures below freezing point, though. I tend to wear my warmer boots then, anyway, and I can always change into these at work when I'm indoors from the cold.

I will always have a pair of black booties in my fall/winter wardrobe. They are just incredibly versatile and often part of a FFBO outfit.

Because they are black, I really don't see duplication AT ALL, and as others have said, they look like ideal black booties. Since you wear black footwear a lot and love this brand -- and since they are similar in style to your other booties, I predict these will work hard for you, Ingunn! Seems like a great purchase to me.

The style looks similar to what you already own but if the style works for you .... Why stress :). I think black booties would be a very versatile addition to your wardrobe. Enjoy!

I have booties in taupe, dark brown, and black (that all look fairly similar) and they all fill different outfit holes and aren't interchangeable. They look good to me!

I don't find them a duplicate at all. I think they could be quite a great addition to your wardrobe.

I think you are right The final verdict will fall when I have this particular pair at my house in a few days. I adore this particular style of booties, and find them very easy to add to almost any outfit. I don't even mind the bare leg look anymore.

Yes Inge, that was amazing! I think I got the last pair in my size in the entire country. They've been sold out in Oslo for months. I found them online, in a shop in another city. I will definitely keep you posted.

Those are beautiful boots and I can see you wearing them for a long time. I don't see them as a duplication of what you have.

Wow, great find, Ingunn! I agree with the others that this doesn't seem like a duplication. Brown and black may both be neutrals, but they are still two completely different colors. At least that's how I feel about brown and black shoes in my wardrobe. With some outfits, the brown goes better, but with other outfits, black is clearly the winner.

Nothing new to add to this... I agree with everyone - the fact that they are black makes them different enough. Yay for the great deal!! I hope they are wonderful for you.
