K/R Biker and Steampunk, oh my!

The last three items in my WHBM order. I am starting to wonder if maybe this just isn't my store. . .

#1 & #2 - A knit motorcycle jacket Inge had pointed out to me. I think it too tight when closd and doesn't look right open. DH loves it!

#3&#4 - Looks kinds steampunk to me. It is velvety and structured, btu I am so not sure it fits my classic style. DH liked it, but not as much as the ones above (He was quite opinionated tonight!)

#5 - Looks "messy" to me. DH thought it was a blast to the past.

Again, I really appreciate your opinion! If these don't work, I will just keep looking.

#3 give you a beautiful silhouette. I like it closed best but open is great too. I am with you #1 not so much -- but it does look pretty good open in #2 -- if you like it is worth keeping. I am not a fan of #5 but that is my bias towards clean lines.

Hi Thistle, here are my thoughts, take them for what they are worth (just my opinion!):
1: the jacket is hitting you higher on your hips, I have had this problem in the past too, being hippy and all I think if it were cut a little longer it would be more flattering.
2: I don't think the jacket gives you the nipped in waist effect we sometimes look for in a jacket, even when worn open. But then again, if you like it, go for it! It is a nice jacket, WHBM makes pretty things.
3: Again I think it is a little short. It almost looks like you are wearing a petite size (though I am sure you are not)
4: same comment as 2 though if I had to choose #2 vs #4, I would choose 4.
5: agree with DV.
In summary I think you can do better. FWIW I have had the same fit issues with WHBM. I really like their designs and it pains me that I cannot wear most of them due to poor fit on my body. Just remember, it is the clothes, not us!!

#3 is going to look out of this world with your skirts!

I like #5 a lot! It needs a sleeve alteration though.

You are almost there with #1 - but it's not quite right. Please don't give up the idea of a knit moto jacket though. You MUST have one - especially if hubs loves it so much

DV pretty much nailed it for me too. There has to be a better moto jacket that is worthy of you. I rather like 3 open and closed, it's a little more feminine than your other jackets.

I'm kind of so so on #1/2. I think it looks good on you, but it doesn't seem to have as much in common with what I've seen of your style so far. However, I would love to see it styled with jeans and a pair of boots. I bet DH is in love with it because of its fun, slightly wild side. I don't see it as a work piece, but more as a weekend or kiddo event piece.

I love the jacket in #3/4. I think the fit is lovely. I prefer it to #1/2 and think it looks more like what I've seen you wear in the past. However, if it feels not so much like you and it isn't calling to you, then maybe it should go back. If you said you loved it, but weren't sure how it would work with the rest of your wardrobe, then I'd be telling you keep it! Keep it! Keep it! I don't hear you saying it is love, though, so if it were me, I'd take it back.

For #5, I think it looks too big and loose. I'm with you that it should go back. There are all kinds of fabulous black wrap sweaters out there for you. No need to settle.

Have you tried the first two jackets with skirts/dresses? They strike me as skirt length vs. pants leg jackets. I really like the second one on you, but I understand if it doesn't *feel* like you.

The velvet jacket looks stellar buttoned up (#3)!! Gorgeous. I realllyyy like the idea of #1/2 for you, but think this particular one isn't quite there; it definitely looks better open to my eye. Not sure on #5, it is rather voluminous.

#3 is a hit! As for 1/2, I have a knit moto which I love (see below). Mine is OLD and needs replacing, but I'd choose it over leather anyday for my style. I'll let you know if I find a good option out there!

I like the idea of #5, but I'm not sure of the fit. What do you think?

I really do like your moto!

I am really eyeing u p the ones Angie posted. Just not sure I could do something so bright! Ok, so really, I would have no idea how to match anything with green or coral.

Oh, Thistle, I really think you should give the green leather moto Angie picked a try. I have it and I can tell you it is super fab. I feel wonderful with it on, it fits wonderfully and is very flattering - Angie really knows what she is doing! I will post a WIW soon to try to entice you to join the green moto jacket club And surprisingly I found a lot that goes with it - you see lots of bright colors mixed these days, as well as more subtle colors underneath with the green on top for that punch of color we all need. Try it, I think you and hubs will like it!

#3 amazing! as far as the motos... i had thought i wanted knit, i was wrong. the knits (i tried a bunch!) felt off to me for whatever reasons. i love my green (teal really) leather -- the black leather felt too hard core rocker girl for me, but the green really "softens the hardness" while still being a fun edgy style. And it is really versatile, esp those light greens Angie posted.

I agree with you - I think the first jacket lloks too tight what about the next size up. I really like the second jacket and I think it can work for your style. The last jacket swamps you. I say keep the second jacket and return the other 2.

The last, too much material... Which comment makes me think of that scene in the movie Amadeus where's the king (?) says something like, 'Very nice, but too many notes!' Lol. But there you have it.
