K/R: attempt at shoe/bag compliment

I bought this handmade bag at an art fair this spring. It has a brass chain strap that allow it to be worn cross-body, shoulder, or as a front or back backpack. The color is a textured natural mix of brown and black. I am looking for shoes to wear this fall with it. I found these comfortable Naturalizer loafers in a textured black. Shall I keep or keep looking? I do want to find a pair of booties to compliment for winter. What do you think of the loafers with the bag? Keep or keep looking?

Cute items, but I vote keep looking for a better match or go brushed gold on the shoes.

Angie and Lisa, thank you for keeping me real. I love the idea of brushed gold shoes or low contrast leopard and need to dig out my leopard booties to see how they would look.
Would the booties in the find below work ( from NAS)? I also added a find photo of the bag for comparison. The color on my monitor is pretty accurate.

Maybe? They seem a bit more grey though. I'm actually toying with the idea of overdyeing shoes with shoe polish atm, so that could be a thought too. Maybe a dark snake is an option too, like this?

Suntiger I have also thought of using brown polish on black shoes or black polish on brown. You are right. The bag has a grey tone too. The color seemed quite versatile. I like your bootie examples. I would need to find a flat or really low heeled version.

Cute bag, perfect size, nice styling. It would be great to find the perfect shoes with it; I like the idea of snakeskin.

Oh Joy it’s really difficult trying to exactly match. I often try to and it’s wonderful when it works. But I would make sure that whichever shoes you choose can be worn with several outfits and not just that bag. Ask me how I know.
The bag is lovely BTW.

Great bag (and shoes), Joy! But agree that if you are wanting more of a match to keep looking. What about a metallic shoe that coordinates with the hardware of the bag?

The loafers are complementary enough to my eye, color, texture and metal finish but the shoes are more dressy. Mixing styles is not my strong suit and in this case I'd probably be more focused on complementing the style rather than the materials.

Yes I agree with Isabel. I think the style of the booties in your Find works better, this making up for not an exact color match. I think that the initial pic of the loafers looks off to my eye because it seems like a more buttoned up style that that bag.

Btw- I love the bag too. Great find!

Thank you, Tammy. I think I will order the booties to at least try. The heel is not high but it has been enough to put me off of these before.
