K/R: Are these booties my style or not, I wonder?

I bought a pair of brown leather booties today, but as I got home I began to wonder if it was the right choice. I'm trying to develop my style along the lines of something like "feminine, classic, simple, fun in the details".

How would you describe these booties? Do they fit the bill or not, in your opinion? Or are they too boring (I intend to wear them for work and everyday use)? What I particularly am pondering on is the strap and buckle. Yay or nae?

Any feedback will be very helpful as always!

These look very classic and NOT boring. Are they comfortable? If so, I'd say keep!

While I don't think these look very feminine or simple, they are classic. The strap and buckle and heel shape are refined enough to make them transistion from Equestrian to Western to Moto pretty easily. So in my book, they would be a great and versatile style.

If they are comfortable and your pants are the right lengths for these heels, I'd say keep.

Now that I look at the photo again, the only detail I really have qualms about is the rounded toe. You will have to assess them on your own feet with your own outfits - let us know!

For what you are looking for, Ingunn, I think these boots hit the nail on the head. I love the color of them.

I think they're great myself. They probably score a little lower in the feminine department, but they aren't frankly masculine, by any means. Try them on with some of your favourite outfits and see how they make you feel. I don't see them too much with dresses or skirts, unless they have something of an equestrian vibe.

Thanks, ladies! I like the booties a lot, and they are certainly comfy enough, but skirts/dresses could become a little difficult to wear with these. I tried a few on, and my daughter said it looked weird. I'm short, and should try to make as long a line as possible.

Equestrian style is up my alley, but western not so much. I think I have to work on my style formula again!

"Classic, no-frill feminine, approachable, confident, simple, urban, fun in the details" . How about that?

Hmm not sure I see these as a "classic" boot. They are a bit more organic, outdoorsy, and a wee bit boho looking to me. That said, I think they'd pair wonderfully with classic items

I love them and want to know who makes them! I just bought a pair from Clarks but mine are a bit darker than i really wanted. I like classic, natural, slightly sporty styles.

Hmm. I'd say they are classic -- as in classic equestrian. Equestrian by its very nature is outdoorsy, no?

It's the feminine part I hang up on. I am also short. For booties with feminine bent to be worn with skirts and dresses, I'd go for something at or around ankle height, and cut a bit closer to the ankle/less loose. That's just me. I may be hung up.

But yeah, I'd say your descriptors work for my own style, quite nicely, I might add. Which is probably why I don't own any equestrian boots. But I would not say no to the right cowboy boots. With pointy toes. Taller. My very first boots ever, at age 13, were cowboy boots. It's on my want list. I think because of nostalgia. I loved those first boots.

ETA, after some consideration: Equestrian can absolutely be feminine. I know this because my sister is into horses/dressage/etc (don't ask me, it's not my thing). But to my eye it requires tall boots that fit close around the ankle, and are perfectly fitted through the calf. These booties are cute, but I guess that's what "un-feminizes" them for me: not fitted enough...

Thank you for all this wisdom! I've tried the booties with skirts, and something isn't quite right - Shiny, I think you've described why perfectly. That means I will have to find another pair in addition. Not good! On the other side, these are very comfortable, and will function well with pants. I have to think a little...

The booties are made by Gabor, a German brand. I'm not sure if they sell them in the US, but there are several online stores in Europe. Gabor shoes are always very comfortable in my opinion. They tend to run a bit big, so I always size down (normally I'm a european 5, but I buy 4 or 4.5 in Gabor). Here's a link: http://www.gabor.de/en/startpage/

I really like them, but agree that they won't work with dresses and skirts.
