At long last I have received my Anyi Lu booties! Please feel free to skip my novel and go straight to the review, or just the pictures. You might guess I am leaning heavily toward keep, but welcome dissenting views.
Backstory: I had been coveting these shoes since Angie posted them with her NAS recommendations last summer. I have plenty of shoes, I certainly do not need these. Still, I really did want a pair of heels that look current enough to make my vintage dresses work, and a summer shoe with a bit of a heel. Then when some lucky fabbers started posting outfits with them I fell even more deeply in love. But the ultimate selling point was the reviews that claimed they were the super comfortable and easy on the feet. I walk a lot and wanted walking shoes!
At first I thought I might find similar peep toe, moderate heel booties elsewhere for cheaper, but search as I did locally and on-line, nothing else measured up in look and heel. By time I realized this they were back to regular price, and I just couldn't fathom spending that much on a desired, but certainly not necessary, pair of shoes.
Then a combination of circumstances: I saw them online for 50% off at Nordstroms just after I received an especially good payout from a consignment store AND my mother informed me she wanted to send us a package and asked if I want to put anything in it. Well, the entire process took almost a month from order until receipt but here they are. Apologies to Laura and Patience whom I blatantly copied for styling ideas.
REVIEW I was surpised that they seem to run a bit big - I ordered 37 and if I had the opportunity I would try the 36.5, but I am pretty sure I would go back to the 37, since now it is cold but when it is warm my feet swell a little. The color rubbed off slightly in a couple places; that doesn't bother me particularly but was surprising. On the other hand, I have stomped around the house with them quite a bit, including up and down the stairs, and I have actually forgotten that I am trying out new shoes, much less heels. And that is pretty amazing!
(I know I should have done a better job rolling my jeans and wore a belt, and maybe the dress should be taken in a bit? These were just quick attempts to show the shoes! I have included my much admired and better executed inspiration pictures for fun.) All advice, K/R or styling, welcome.
