K/R another BR shorts post

I purchased the same shorts as janet, and found them a bit short on me. At least, for what I wanted them for. So I then ordered the size up, to see if the larger size would give me the extra length. And it does!

So, what do you think? My size, sized up, or neither?
I also ordered this linen tee from BR. It has a neat insert at the top of the back. But it's not quite as drapy as I had hoped. So I'm on the fence. And since I'm asking for opintions, may as well get yours, on it!

1. regular size
2. sized up
3. sized up - does the dropped crotch look weird?
4. sized up plus white tee.

honestly, i think those shorts are made to be on the shorter side. (i didn't see the other poster's shorts). i like the tee

You are too cute. And I have to say, you and Janet are making me want these shorts!! I actually like the sized up version and do not have a problem with the crotch. But I have a high tolerance for that. How are they when you sit? Is there too much "poof"?

I like the tee, but if it isn't cut the way you like, send it back. Another one will appear.

I like the larger pair because this type of shorts look best baggier to my eye. Can't see any crotch issues especially with the hectic print (so it may be that way in person, too), but I had to say that I just love that you've got your usual smile on in that photo. "See? It's this crotch thing here *charming smile* " ^^

OK - I know you want us to keep it honest here, so I'm going to vote Return on both the shorts and the top. In my opinion, the shorts are just too short and the tee doesn't look as though it has the kind of fluid drape that you're wanting! Keep in mind that I have a low tolerance level for women over the age of 30 wearing shorts that are much more than an inch or so above the knee - so, I'd be saying the same thing to anyone in your age-range! In other words, its not you - you've got great shapely legs! Its just the darn shorts are too short!

I have a slight preference for the smaller size of shorts, but I enjoy more fitted looks. The larger size still looks really good. I vote keep.

As for the tee, I think that there is something about the neckline that is unflattering on you. Perhaps it is too deep or too big? I vote to return on that one.

I think you have great legs, and if I were you, I wouldn't mind showing them off. I'm in a different camp from Marley about age appropriateness, especially for shorts. Shorts (at least in my neck of the woods) are a casual staple, and I see people from young to old wearing them. Just my two cents.

I like the sized up shorts, see no issues with bulging and I think the length looks great with your fab legs. I also noticed your super friendly smile In 3 I'd pass on the tee, it does not look drapey enough and it looks short, unless you have it semi- tucked.

Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it. Yes Marley, honest is a good thing and why we do this! If these shorts were 6" longer I'd be buying htem for work. But this length (at least, the larger size) is totally in tune with what people where around here casually in the summer, so I'm not concerned about age appropriateness. Yet. They will make nice breezy casual shorts, up a notch from my usual cotton, denim or gear shorts.

I will return the smaller shorts and the tee, and sit on the larger shorts for a few days. I will have time to style them a bit over the weekend, maybe wear them around to see if the sizedupedness (yup, that's a word) feels sloppy. The tee just isn't a 10, and I can guarantee you I won't be naked without it. I need to be only purchasing 10's now.

Hahaha! So relieved to hear that you're not going to be naked without that shirt! Also, I completely "get" the cultural norms with regards to shorts (or any piece of clothing!) so go for it - and enjoy the shorts!

Hey there, potential shorts twin!

I am neither here nor there on the tee -- I agree it's nothing special. But I like the shorts on you a lot. I don't see a tremendous amount of difference between the two, so I think it comes down to personal preference and comfort.

Marley, I get what you're saying, but I have this weird rebellious streak about shorts. I just think they're inherently casual and as such, don't mind them being short regardless of age. However, I hate really short shorts (booty shorts, showing butt cheek, or tight shorts) with the fire of a thousand suns, even on the very young, so I kinda get what you're saying. I just hate the extreme.
