I tried these on at SSIF, then ordered them. I waited weeks to properly try them on as it was still in the high 80s/low 90s and I just.couldn't.do.it. But finally it's cooled down, seemingly overnight by a good 20-25 degrees.

My closet is packed, so these need high marks to earn a place (and knock something else out as I'm committed to 1 in, 1 out).

1/2/3 -- Vest-type garment, in a dark navy blue. I love the side and back views, not as sure about the front. I do think this will look better with skinny jeans and heels but I am less and less wearing the heels. So picture this with skinny jeans but similar low heeled booties.

4/5/6 -- One size shawl/poncho garment. In black. I have a navy shawl already, and am trying to limit the number of gray items this year. However, gray might look better on me. Aside from the color, is this too overwhelming for my frame?

I love the first item in all views!!! I have that on order and hope it looks half as good on me...I like it with the BF's, too. The second item seems too large or overwhelming on you.

Una -- great question. I have a really bulky dark green sweater from last year, from Free People. That's what I'm thinking.

Of these two I really like the first one, and preferred it on you in person when you tried it on at the store. I feel like for the second one if going for a big overwhelming poncho -- go big, I want thicker fabric which never creases, more texture, or a lighter color or something.

I like the vest as a styling item, but you'd have to decide if it will get a lot of use. I don't often have a need for a sleeveless, warm long vest because I run cold enough to need long sleeves if I need the vest, and I don't have the kind of casual wear focus where I'd get to wear it over a long sleeved sweater, and Im not sure I'd wear it around the house! So I'd think of it as a fashion accessory (I guess it's a statement item!). If it will go with a lot of sort of basic outfits (the essentials) then it could be quite fun.

I tried the vest on at the local AT and even though it is really attractive, I left it there because I wasn't sure how I would wear it...Living in a cold climate, I felt that the mid sleeve wasn't practical for a coat or warm enough to go without...

#5 channels your inner Clint Eastwood. Fun piece. I don't think it's right in black though. Grey or a colour would be better, and less overwhelming.

Great feedback! Thank you for supporting my love of capes and ponchos Angie. I think I'm going to keep looking for a shorter version of the cape, in a different color. Although I agree the gray, which I tried on in store, was less swallow-me-whole, I am going to keep to my resolve to not purchase any more gray items. Last year I went wild on gray, thinking it was a flattering neutral on me. The love affair lasted all season, and I still like my cashmere Vince long cardigan and a pair of gray jeans, but the rest will have to move on and make way for forest green or navy blue items.

Sveta and others, this vest is in a Petite size. This is also a PM, a size I wear only about 10% of the time as I'm usually a solid S in regular and Petite sizing. The vest quality is really nice, for those of you on the fence. As for the warmth factor, I think this will work fine as an inside sweater, there is enough sleeve coverage for California winters. If worn outside, I think I would top it off with my shorter navy blue wrap which I got 3+ years ago at Ross and is a little pill-y but acceptable given its $30 price!

As an aside but one trick I've found works well with piling coat sleeves besides shaving is brushing them with a clean pet brush, either the soft-tipped metal or nylon bristles. It returns piling not-wool to looking like wool.

#2 I adore the poncho in theory but I do think it is overwhelming. To get the best out of it, it's really needs a nice skinny leg and heels, and I know you have said you are wearing lower heels at the moment. I think there will be a better version out their for you;)

I have similar thoughts as Angie on the poncho. I think grey would have been more fun than black. The black is just too harsh and feels huge! But I like your idea of shorter navy/forest green poncho too
