K/R Angie's Zara Top - YouLookFab Forum

Not sure about this one - it's the Zara top that Angie wore in her outfit post. I think the fit is good but I question the arm pit area - they certainly didn't leave much room there. It feels OK, but does it look like it's pulling on my right side? The color is ink blue, I tried to lighten the pics so you could see the fit better. I bought it to wear with my blue plaid Joe Fresh ankle pants. All the pics are the same top, just different rooms, different lighting. The top is all wrinkles as it's just out of the box.

On a side note, that was the fastest shipping I've ever seen. I ordered the top late Tues. night (standard shipping), I got the order confirmation yesterday, the shipping confirmation this morning, and the package was on my doorstep this afternoon!

I know you'll give it to me straight - K or R?

Well, I love it. Does if feel uncomfortable in the armpit? It looks okay but these details are awfully hard to tell, even with lightened photos. I would go on the feel of it.

I still haven't ordered one but I really should. I probably can't own two many blue turtleneck tops.

Suz, Zara sizing is definitely not vanity sizing. I wear a 4 or 6 on top, and this is a size M. I'm thinking of trying it in a L, but I do think that would be too big.

Karie the fit looks good to me and I have the same color in crew neck and like it a lot. I did try this style on and found it too high on my shortish neck, but if it is comfortable on your neck I say keep.

I was going to say return when I saw pic 1, but pic 3 shows more detail and looks OK (I think what was concerning me in pic 1 was just the wrinkling from the package). I know that I read something on the forum about someone complaining about the armholes on Zara tops being too high or small, but I can't remember who or where. Can you iron the top to get the wrinkles out? Then you would know if the pulling is from the fit or if it's just wrinkles.

To my eye, the fit looks just fine. Try doing "the twist" in front of a mirror -- best way to see if you've got underarm pulling going on. The ink blue color is beautiful on you and will surely be versatile. Hope you decide to keep it.

Karie - I don't see any pulling but it has to be comfortable for you. That mock turtle neck is wonderful on you as is the color. If it's comfortable then it looks fabulous on!!

I don't see visible pulling, but when I'm unsure about something like that, I wear it around the house for a little while to see if it bugs me.

It looks great -- I like the color and style. If it came with full-length sleeves, I would grab one. I could use a spare lightweight turtleneck for layering in this cold weather.

It looks good, but if I look carefully, I do see what you mean about slight pulling on your right side. I don't think I would not have noticed it if you had not asked about it specifically though. Do you find yourself pulling it down when you look in the mirror? If so, I would try the size up for comparison. I don't have much experience with Zara, but one of the tops I tried was a size up from my usual and still tight in the armholes, so I can relate.

No worries about sizing. I always wear M in Zara, but S or sometimes xs in everything else. I really like this on you, and I think it looks good!

This looks great on you. The color and shape are flattering. If it doesn't feel right in the arm pit area, I would pass. From my own experience, things like that bug me and hardly ever get worn.

Have you tried a size up for more ease in the armpit? Otherwise I like it on you but agree with Cuffcat; tightness in that area means orphan on me.

I like it in the photos a lot. I wouldn't notice the armpit thing if you didn't point it out, so I guess it is a question of comfort.

I can barely see the problem and it doesn't bother me. Wear it around the house for a bit and see if the tightness bothers you. I think a larger size might be too big.

If you plan to wash it, is there any possibility it might shrink? If so, I would probably return it.

I don't see the issue in the armpit area you mention, but only you know if it is comfy or not. If it feels comfortable, I say its a keeper!

Karie, this looks great on you and if you went up a size, I think it would be too big. I love turtlenecks, too, and you'll get lots of use out of this one, I'm sure.

The fit looks great from what I can see.

Many of you said to wear it around the house, and I like that idea - I hadn't thought of it myself, and I don't know why because I do that with shoes. And El Cee, great idea to do "the twist" - I usually put on some music and dance around while getting outfits ready for the upcoming week - it'll be a good time to test this out.
