K/R: Angie's pick Suzi Chin print faux wrap dress

I had some Nordstrom's notes to spend so I ordered this Suzi Chin print faux wrap dress that was on Angie's recent pick for dresses. I got it in a size 6, following the size chart. The dress has a stitch holding the cleavage area together and a tie at the side. It's a pull-on style. What do you think of it? I'm also including the other printed faux wrap dresses I own for comparison...I will only keep if this dress is equally as or more fab than the ones I already own.

This dress is pretty darn fab on you although I'm not sure I love it just as much as the others you have. You and wrap dresses are a match made in heaven. Of your other dresses 6 and 8 are my faves fo comparison. I worry this one will be too big when you lose those last invisible pounds. How does it feel IRL?

It is a beautiful dress. It might be too big eventually but you need to "shop for the body you have now", so I vote you keep it.

Yes Una, that was my concern as well. It feels ever so slightly big, like I might shrink out of it soon. I was thinking of trying the 4, but realistically that might be too small for me now with my tummy. The stitch at the cleavage is under some strain and I can't decide if it's because my bust is bigger from nursing, or the shoulders are falling off because the bust is too loose. Ah, dilemmas! Also, while it's a cool print (almost like a galaxy print), I'm not totally in love with the print/colors the way I am with my other dresses (esp 7 & 9).

Are the notes something you have to spend by a certain date or you loose them? If not, I would return the dress now, wait until you loose the baby weight, and either repurchase or buy something else. If you have to spend the notes by a certain date or you really love the print, you could keep it and wear it now but have it altered later.

Looking at the pics a second time, I would try on the 4. The 6 looks slightly big on the side to me.

Natalie, the dress is beautiful but sounds like the fit is tricky. You can have your Nordstrom Notes put on a gift card. Then you don't have a deadline for using them. You can wait until your body shape is more settled.

From what I can see, the dress seems to fit you well. I agree with dressing the body you have now because it might be awhile before those last few pounds come off. My motto was "nine months on, nine months off" so I didn't feel bad that I didn't lose all the baby weight in 6 weeks like models and celebrities always seem to do. You want something to wear now, but it would be nice if a dress this nice could be worn later too.

I think try the 4. I don't think it's on par with your current ones as-is. A tighter fit miiiight emphasize the tummy rouching, which I think would actually be nicer and more like your other dresses. Or maybe not, but it's worth a try.

GP you can wear a wrap like nobody's business! And you know how much I want to cuddle that wee accessory in #7.
I love the print for you but the fit is not as nice as the other 3 (6,7,8) IMHO. And, I think the fit will change again over the next month. I know you mentioned it is straining at the cleavage but it looks loose to me in that area. Perhaps consider a size down.

You are looking great and so is baby. I am a huge fan of number 8 with number 6 coming in right behind it. Agree that the new one as fitted doesn't measure up. But what is it about #8 that is perfection? The fit, the print, the cut all are phenomenal on you.

I would size down to try it. This looks so fab on you! I was pondering trying it, but I knew the colors weren't a good fit for me. They certainly are for you, though! If the fit works, this would be on par with the other dresses.

If it doesn't work out, see if they can put the notes on a giftcard for you.

I like the new one, but I don't think it compares to #8 (my favourite!) and #9. So it is fabulous, but probably not quite as great as what you already own.

Omg, I love love LOVE the pattern on this dress. This kills me, because I don't know if I love the cut and gather. It falls really nicely on you right now, but I do worry that it looks big, esp. in the shoulders.

But omg, I love the pattern.

It's a really nice dress (I saw it in person the other day when I stopped in to make a return), but I don't think the fit is as nice as your others. Sizing down may help.

Lovely colors on you! Lovely style for you! But I agree with the others, it's not a great fit. In fact, I ordered this one myself and just got it today. I slipped it on and had some similar fit issues.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I see that you all were not totally thrilled with it either so my feelings were confirmed. It's a nice dress, and if I didn't already have similar dresses I'd probably keep it. If I loved the print and colors more I'd try sizing down to a 4, but I ended up returning it. I realized that I liked the ones already in my closet more than this one--the colors are a little lighter/less saturated/more pastel than I normally like. Angie, you are right that the neckline is too wide. Glory, I think you're right that the bust is too loose rather than tight. And Jamie, sorry you had the same fit issues. I see on the online reviews that someone else had the same issues with the wide neckline.

When I went to go return the dress, I stopped by J Crew and ordered one of those tuxedo shirts Angie recommended, so let's hope that will work out better! Thanks again everyone!

I agree with everyone else. I like the dress, but it isn't my favorite of the ones pictured. If you really like it then I vote for trying the size 4.

I adore that print on you! Hard to get a perfect fit post-partum...may be best to pass for now but make a mental note to get something with those colours this season.
