K/R Angie recommended DV boots and bonus cold shoulder!

I had to re-order these DV boots in a full size up from my regular size for them to fit, but I think I love them. As a bonus, a lace cold-shoulder shirt I got at F21 a couple of weeks ago to wear in Hawai'i. Ahead of the curve by a whole two weeks! I actually thought it was a trend that would suit me as an IT. What do you think?

I have more boots piled up ready to return than I can count, so I'm hoping these are keepers, but please be honest.

Oh, those are some kickin' booties! I missed them--which ones are they? Orange looks so good on you!

I am not sure if this pic is just for convenience or you plan on wearing them with shorts. Especially with your slim legs, they seem a little large around the opening for that, kind of bringing to mind galoshes (just my humble opinion--and edited to add that I have a hard time adjusting my eyes to booties on legs that are bare or with tights). I think they'd be awesome with jeans.

Did you have to size up due to the width or length or a combination?

I am considering the Reports. I usually have to size down in heels (5.5), and size up in flats (6.0). Now I'm torn about which size to get.

I can't wrap my mind around orange boots but if you like them, they are a go! Would these be in place of the taupe cowboyish boots that you were looking at, or would you keep both?

Ooh, I like both of them! That cold shoulder top was made for your strong shoulders. Boots look fab - far better than the orange frye boots. It doesn't look like there is much ankle gappage either, hooray!

My questions:

- Do you want these to be your go-with-everything bare-legged boots for summer? Or are you still looking for a "nude" light colored summer boot?

- If these are your one pair, are you okay with the suede? You were pretty adamant about not wanting that before.

Rae and Rita, I should have clarified - these are NOT in lieu of neutral ankle boots. I wanted another pair of bright boots for fall/spring and since the orange Fryes didn't work I thought I'd give these a whirl.

Rita, I had to size up for both width and length - these run tiny!

The fit is much better on those - keep! And I like the top (is it sort of lace/eyelet/open weave too? Another trend!) with it's cold shoulder. Fun.

Jonesy, I actually consigned the blue Fryes because they were just too wide in the shaft for me to style them easily. I still have the electric blue booties and love them!

Yay for Rae-proval! And Angie's permission! And everyone else who chimed in. At last I can move on from one quest.

I can't wait to wear this top in Hawai'i... and I'm wearing my orange lace Anthro dress to the wedding. It's a theme!

Aida, my feet are really wide, so I normally order a half-size up anyway. (I'm a 5.5W, so I order 6s). So really it was just another half-size up from that. You should be fine in the larger size!
