So I too succumbed.....

I absolutely love the feel of this sweater. It's soft and comfortable on the inside, yet has quite a bit of structure. I want to love it. But my instinct when I first put it on was that
a) it's not slouchy/fluid enough for the way trends are going, although I do wonder if loser would be too sloppy, and
b) it's just a titch short for my frame.

Here it is with white jeans, black jeans, and my pleather leggings. Shoes optional. Apparently.
I probably should have also tried it with blue jeans, but I think you can get a feel for the length with these.

Wow, is the white ever stumpifying!

What do you think?????????

I think the size/ease is perfect, but I think I agree with you that it is a little short. Maybe worn with skirts? Dunno if that would be versatile enough for you to keep it. I really like the vibe of it on you. I could be convinced either way, honestly!

Have you tried to size up? Somehow I wish the length to be a bit longer on you...

Svetas this is as big as it gets. A large, and there is no XL. First thing I did when I tried it on was to check that! Club Monaco doesn't want us larger framed people in their clothes I think...

Elizabeth, I think you hit the nail on the head that it is not long enough. I looked at your pix before reading your post, and I said to myself, "That top clearly seems to fit properly, but why isn't it flattering on her?" I couldn't figure it out. But then I read your post and looked at the pictures again, imagining you in a longer length, and it worked much better in my mind's eye. So I vote for returning it and spending the money on something else that really makes you happy!

It probably would look a bit better if it were fitting a little looser and longer. Another issue is the neckline -- not your best I think, right? Not horrid, but not ideal. Sigh...

Isn't it awful to find a maker whose styles you love but whose cuts don't love you back? I have a few of those, too....

I agree. Pretty, and pretty close, bit not exactly the fit you need. Stay strong and something else will come along.

I was also tempted by that one myself... but CM doesn't fit me either, as I'm too short. The smallest size may work vertically, but not horizontally. Size up and it's too long.

So happy to see someone tried it! Nice to see it "in the wild." It is truly lovely.
I also wish you were able to size up -- I think it would be just so fab, especially with those white jeans!

Before giving up can you try with a high-waisted pencil skirt? Just a hunch. Maybe this might work as a skirt-length asymmetrical top? Those are always too difficult to find.

It's just a tad short. It could have been great, but you would be better off trying a different brand.

However, there's good news. Your hair looks absolutely terrific!

Uh oh, how tall are you? I have this on the way. It does look a bit short, but maybe it will work with skirts? It is really fun and I can see why you love it. Glad to hear it is soft too.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I'll return it. I'm wearing my assymetrical Joie sweater today, and I feel so much better in it. It's great having those nagging questions confirmed or answered by fresh eyes! I appreciate the honesty from all of you.

For those wondering, the Joie Armelio is about 2" longer at the short side, and 3-4" longer at the points (which aren't in the same place). And my Joie is a medium, which fits very slightly looser than this CM large.

Una, I'm 5'6". It'll be interesting to see what you think of yours - I think you're quite a bit smaller than I am, so who knows how they adjust the shape as they size down.

Suz you're absoutely right about the neckline. I generally stay away from crew necks, but this one is a titch lower than "normal" so I thought I'd give it a try. But I have enough clothes, I don't need to compromise. Remember that, Elizabeth

The skirt idea is a good one, I may try that. I'm just not sure I want to have a sweater with this price tag that I'm unable to wear with jeans. kwim?

And thanks for the hair compliment Catnip! Much appreciated. It was such a hard decision to make, so encouragement on the journey is very motivating.

It's interesting...I agree with your decision on this sweater. I actually bought it a few days ago and I had to size up to get the right drape and length. I'm not particularly tall, 5'5", so who are they designing for? Odd, really. Sorry it didn't work for you.

I think you're right to return to the sweater Elizabeth - it is beautiful but I do find it a wee bit short. If it's any consolation, I normally don't fit a thing at CM due to the smaller sizing

Thier sizing is baffling, isn't it. The models they use, must be tall... and the things look awesome. yet I'm very average height, and the sweater is short? Or maybe it's just short on my shape - this length would look great on others. i dunno. And why no XL? It's one thing not to have a plus size range, but no XL?

And the the last thing I bought there, the black/navy/white animal print bomber cardigan thing, is a medium. And it's a more fitted piece. yet this, which is more fluid, I went to a large and it's still pushing it.

Yep - total size confusion! My moto jacket from there is a large and yet everything I've tried on there since in a large is way too small. Whatever - onward to what works for us best, right?

Actually, the white rendition is my best. Not stumping at all to my eye. The most modern in fact. And I don't find the length too short either. Perfect to my eye. It's a tailored slouch in the most gorgeous fabric. If it wasn't black - I would have one too.

I was at the store last night, finally getting the sleeves on my white one shortened. And of course fell in love with the one Ceit got, but one of the snaps was broken, so they are bringing another one in for me. I asked them if they had another navy one, and they said no, so I'm thinking yours must be the same as hers? And probably soon to be mine?

Yeah, Ceit, it is. I can see wearing it when I'd be wanting a denim jacket, which I've had a hard time finding. Plus it's nicer, so perhaps more versatile. Whoo hoo! So so so awesome seeing navy out there!

And... with the 20% off, it was really impossible NOT to get......

Angie has spoken, and I always feel odd saying something different that she did, but I don't much like it on you. If it came in a larger size, I might. But my eye is nowhere near as well trained as hers!

I just saw your "20% off" comment to Ceit and thought it was for the CM sweater, but that was about the jacket, right? Just trying not to get all apoplectic over here. I hate missing discounts more than anything.
