K/R and opinions Pants plus my new purse EDIT: with gray pants styled

I finally feel like I've change in good shopping luck. When I wrote my list out a week or 2 ago, I mentioned how I've been trying to find pants. A few days after I made the list, I was looking around on thedUP and found pants! I think they'll work, but I'd like a few opinions.

Pic1 and 2 - J.Crew gray chinos

Pic 3 and 4 - black Gap pants

Pic 5 and 6 - brown/gray (stone?) Ann Taylor Loft pants - The pants were labeled as brown on the site and looked more chocolate brown than INR. I'm ok with this color, but what would you call it?

Pic 7-9 - This is not part of the K/R. This is a beautiful Kate Spade I bought from Tradesy recently and I love it! the only flaw I could find was that part of the shoulder strap near where it connects to the purse is bent. But, it's not noticeable and doesn't seem to affect how the purse wears.

What do you all think?

I am not the best on PPL, but the pants all look good to me!

Keep and love the KS purse. Even after you told me the effect to look for, I still can't see it. And it looks like a great, classic bag.

Bag looks great, Kristin -- nice and simple and classic. That's my preferred kind of bag, um...can you tell?

The pants look good from what I can tell -- it is a bit tricky with the camera angles. They do seem to be pulling in the crotch area. Have you done sit tests, etc. Are they too short (or long) in the rise?

The bag is terrific. My favorite fit is the first pair of chinos but it is hard to tell from the downward angle.

Nice bag! You'll get tons of use out of it. Of the three pants I prefer the J Crew, primarily because the black is hard to see. I still don't know enough about fit etc., but I'm just not sure about the brown pants. Maybe it the angle of the photo that Suz mentioned.

The rise looks a little long on the pants -- that usually causes the same kind of bunching on me.

Gorgeous! I especially love the bag! The pants all look great barefoot - I think you'll want to keep to flats in them to maintain PPL.

What a fantastic bag and looks simply perfect for you now and with your plans for a more work wardrobe in the near future. Can't see any imperfection at all in it, you will so enjoy it I am sure.
I'll leave the pants to the other ladies as I know nothing about rises, how accurate pics are in assessing fit, etc.

I definitely give a thumbs-up to the JCrew chinos in #1-2. It's harder to judge the Gap ones because of the dark fabric, but they look fine to me. The Loft pair is a fab color, but is the fit ok in the crotch? It does seem a little bunchy there.

I vote you stock up on the JCrew chinos in different colors since the fit is so perfect!

The bag is great. A super score indeed. Brilliant.

I'm not sure about the chinos. The first pair are the best fit of the three. I can't assess the fit of the second pair of pants because of the light, and the third pair whisker just a tad too much. As Ceit mentioned, the rises are quite long, and that's part of what is causing them to whisker.

If the black pants fit, those are good for business casual. You'll still need to convince me about the bootcut chinos. I worry a little that they look dated, Kristen. So pop them into an outfit and by all means prove me wrong.

Thanks everyone! I;m sorry about the bad camera angle. I'm using my phone for the first time and I think there's a learning curve with it.

@Suz - All of the pants pass the sit test. They're higher waisted (is that a word?) than what I normally wear, but I think I like it. They don't seem to be gapping and aren't riding down.

@Ceit - There's not much bunching (amazingly).

@amiable - I'm planning on wearing flats with all of them. I know my feet well enough that if I'm going to be on them all day, flats are necessary.

@Nancylee - I see the bunching in the photo, but it's not near as bad IRL. I'm not sure what's going on there. And I think I'll stock up on the J.Crew chinos. I absolutely love this pair and the pair that's a tad too short.

I see the wiskering in the pic (you and Ceit are right, it's pretty bad), but when I'm looking at the in the mirror, it's looks much, much better. I wonder if the light, along with the bad angles, aren't helping me. I'll put the gray chinos in an outfit later this morning.

And a fun detail I forgot the mention about the black pants is that they have a texture. I'll post a pic of it later as well.

Here are the pants styled 2 with 2 tops. I was able to look at the tag and saw that the pants were originally made/sold for holiday 2010.

How do you feel about the grey chino outfits?

I like the chinos. I feel very comfortable in them, and they are a much better length for me than my last pair of gray pants.

The outfits I think could still use some work, but that's more due to me needing to be a bit more daring with color and texture. I think these pants would work well with my dark purple linen AT Loft top. What do you think?

Yes. Try the chinos with the purple top. Try them with a blouse or shirt too. Perhaps you can match up your belt and shoes?
