I wanted to replace Jacket #6 (donated for being sweaty and uncomfortable).

Ordered #1-4 during a sale, but I don't know if I love it. Love the yellow and super dark navy combo, but I think the effect is a bit too US Navy for me? Or is that my headache talking?

If I return #1, I might try #5 - this one would be a little longer and looser in fit. It is more expensive than #1 but not by that much.

ETA #7. I initially thought the measurements were too big, but I checked against my other jackets and it's fine. Cheapest option.

You too with the headache? What is with the world today?

I think it is tough to tell about the first jacket because it's not really styled the way you would wear it and here comes across as a bit uniform-like. Can we see it at home and more in keeping with what you'd actually do?

#5 looks potentially more your weekend style.

Would this satisfy your yellow jacket craving or are you still thinking about the Gallery trench, too?

Hmm, I'm not loving that navy/yellow one right now. It reminds me too much of hoodies (it is hooded, right?).

I'd have to see you in the possible replacement jacket -- that one reminds me of the fireman's coat I sewed one year for my son's make-believe play

Eh, I accidentally left the first one locked up in my desk drawer... just the way this day is going, I guess. Thank you for the headache sympathy - may we both feel better soon!

MNsara, I hear the hoodie comment. It does have a hood, and I thought the same. Now, fisherman's jacket is something I can get behind...

Just aiming for yellow. I don't think the original was nautical, really. It was a toddler's rain coat. #7 is about 12" long, so it would hit in about the same spot as the original.

Clearly am in the minority, but I much prefer the nautical vibe of the navy to the fireman/Paddington vibe of the yellow RL. It's also in keeping with the current sporty trend, with the tipping and hood. Would like to see a back and/or side view.

The last one, Rae, looks poofy on the belly --- could be a trick of the light or the camera angle, but something to potentially watch for!

Hm, I see what you mean, Manidipa. Well, I will try to take styled pictures of the navy one tomorrow. It's possible I would do better with dye in this case...

I thought the navy/yellow combo looked really nice on, but now that you mention the US Navy it might be hard to shake that image. I really love the looks of 5, but probably not very versatile, I just like the classic casualness of it.

Thank you for the opinions - I am going to return #1, as it's just not growing on me. I think if I did yellow on black I'd want it to be more Wolverine than US Navy.

I'm still considering the other two, leaning toward #5. I love the hardware on that one, and a longer, slouchy jacket is something I don't have right now.

On the other hand, #7 is actually very close to the original in shape (original was not fitted at all, as it was for a little boy), was more expensive originally, and is less expensive now.
