K/R: A tale of two Metallic tops

I ordered a couple of metallic tops (these were planned prior to closet clean out )from Lord & Taylor that were a great deal. The one in 4/5 is definitely a sweater, the top in 1-3 is more of a casual baseball top. You may recognize the metallic sweater from one on Angie's recent posts.

Are they different enough to keep both? I own no metallic tops. I like them both for different reasons and I am really good at justifying clothing purchases so I can keep them.

Lastly, is it ok to wear metallic tops during the day without looking too over the top? I think the more casual of the two would work during the day but I could be mistaken since I'm just dipping my toes in.

Any comments and suggestions helpful. I just tried the tops on with the jeans I had been wearing all day and a pair of black low booties. Bottoms suggestions? Thanks gals! Keep on tuckin!

I like them both, and think either/both are ok for everyday wear. As for keeping them both, I think they are different enough, but I'll leave that final decision to you. I think both would look good with white jeans, and for a different look, black wide leg trousers.

As for metallic for daywear, that seems to be totally on trend right now.

I like the second one better too. The band on first one reminds me of a sweatshirt. The second one is more refined.

I prefer the second one too. It's warmer tone works better with your complexion. Looks fabulous.

Another vote for the second one. I agree with Angie, the warmer tones look great with your skin tone and hair.

I vote for 2 - more interesting. Of course you can wear these in daytime!

I prefer the second one also. However, if you really really honestly love them both, I would keep them both IF you feel like you would have ample opportunity to wear them. I don't have experience wearing metallic tops, but they seem to me something that would be best done only once in a while and not on a regular basis. As you pointed out, the metallic thread makes them special, so I think a person could get too much of a good thing if she tried to wear them a lot.

#2 is my favorite -- it has both a little sparkle and a rich texture, tonal depth, and great length. Both are great, though!
