K/R : 3 pairs of shoes

Ok, this is not a k/r post really, because after trying them on, I've decided they're all going back, for practical reasons (size and/or comfort).

I still have questions about style for you, o wise ones.

First, my idea was that black shoes would look best with black trousers than the toffee one I currently wear #10
What do you think ?

Second, I thought maybe a higher strap on the ankle #7 or a higher shaft #8 would look better than the low gladiators with cropped trousers : opinions ?

Ah shame that they aren't comfortable enough, Isabelle, because they all look good on your feet. As far as black versus toffee footwear with black trousers is concerned: I think both colours work equally well.

Style-wise I love the first and third pair best paired with these trousers. I do also like the idea of something with a higher shaft but feel that the second pair looks just a little too "heavy" on your slim ankles (they seem to come up about as high as the toffee shoes do - which I love on you - so I think it's the combination of the black with the high vamp in this case). Having said that, I wouldn't give up on the black high-vamped option just yet, perhaps try on a few other pairs, it's often tiny design details that make the difference.

I quite like your toffee shoes, but agree that they don't give the same polished look that you get with the other options, especially #1.

I like the toffee ones with this outfit. Just a touch of colour (even a neutral) is nice.

I like the strappy shoes with the triangles best. Those would be good for jazzing up plain outfits.

I agree with Inge that a taller shoe would be nice, but the black ones feel a little heavy (side view is really nice though).

The toffee ones are more casual looking, in a mixed neutrals kind of way and the contrast between your leg and shoe is less pronounced which can be nice.
The three new shoe looks are all different, the first is my least favorite, it seems unflattering, and the other two are both good but very different. I don't know if the second would serve a much different purpose than the toffee and they might have less range.
I do like the last ones and the placement of the ankle strap IS more important than I would've thought. This particular pair might be a little too plain or a little too delicate for the pants?

I LOVE #1. KILLER (#9)

#3 (#8) are too complex for your Simple Elegant Tomboy look. If I were dressing you - we'd try a simpler sandal bootie. Shaft looks fine on that shoe. Like the Find, but with a lower heel.

#6 (#7) are KILLER too. Strap looks lovely. Nice position.

Wow, the black & white ones are chic and look so perfect with black & white outfits.

The second pair looks too heavy.

The neat black pair in #7 looks great with your slim ankles and long legs.

Agree that in general, black shoes look better than the toffee ones with black trousers. But if the black trousers were worn with a top or topper or scarf with at least a hint of toffee, the toffee shoes would also be fine.

I like 1 and 3 the best, and I agree it would be nice to have a pair of black shoes as an option to wear with the black pants. I think toffee can work well, too. Black gives a more coherent look, when you are feeling like less contrast. I find the style of #2 less reflective of your style overall, as Angie noted.

I am glad , well as far as I need to be , ha, that they are all going back . I have to be honest in agreeing with Isabel about the first pair . I don't find that style of shoe flattering on any foot a especially from the top/front . It's too flat, long and wide . The last pair seem the most " you " , of any of them . Are you wedded to the idea of a sandal ? A soft perforated summer weight oxford would look great on you . ( and yes I just saw a pair I covet , which is why they are top of mind , lol)

I have to agree with PPs. I LOVE the shoes in #1, 2 and 9. In second place would be the third pair of shoes with the ankle strap. The second pair in the middle seem a bit heavy for you and/or the outfit.

I love the black and white pair. They have the black but are lightened up with the white. I have some very similar to #7 and have loved them with crops

I am crazy for #1 and feel sad it is not comfortable. But if it is not, it must go back!

I also really like the ankle strap ones but agree the second pair look too heavy.

And I still like the diagonal stripe shirt.

Yes, #8 are too heavy : good width of the sole but I don't fill up the upper part, and I suspect I'll have this problem with most open booties out there. And, yes, there are not my style, too maximal, I knew it before ordering but I wanted to try that open booties kind of shoes with cropped trousers.

Isabel's right about #7 : they are too delicate - actually too narrow for my feet, amazing, first time it happens. I like this kind of d orsay shoes with cropped trousers, but they're not easy to find - maybe they're going out of fashion.

#9 are one size too big, very good quality and very soft leather, no problem with comfort. But my first impression after putting them on was that my feet looked anormally wide and long in them. Thanks Isabel and Lisap for reminding me of that first impression, I was about to compromise and order the size down, because I love the design.

@ Lisap : wish I could wear loafers or perf oxfords. I used to, but I'm growing more intolerant of the heat every year - I've come to hate the Summer sun, actually, though it sounds very depressive gothic to say so.
I want open shoes, but I still want toes and heels covered, so I'm looking for unicorns and meanwhile I'm down to 2 pairs of comfortable Summer shoes. Oh well, maybe 2 pairs are enough.

Oh no 2 pairs are not enough! I break my heart about the black and white ones- so so amazing with that striped shirt. I like the heavier ones too but not with those pants. Your tan ones look great also.

More love for the black and white pair. I kind of like #2 - interesting shoe, and can see why you wanted to give it a try, but agree that it isn't as seamlessly your style as #1 and #3 are.

Love all your choices, too bad they don't fit! I like the higher ankle strap with the crops. You can also easily pull off the bulkier middle shoes with your long legs, but maybe it is less you? I do love the first pair too.
