K/R #2 the silver top

This is also a birthday gift. It's an open weave silver sweater. It's really comfy, I love the hemline, and it's a little cropped which works well for shorts and skirts I think. It's still loose though. The open weave makes it nice for Spring, and I could later a cami under for f/w. I just tried it with my mans shorts and leather skirt here since these are 2 items I was looking for toppers for. How does the fit of the top look?

I love the idea of this sweater, but that one gather just looks like it is pulling instead of an intentional design element to my eye. I don't think it was as exaggerated on the model pic, was it?

No you're right Ceit I do t see that gather online. It's weird, you don't see it like that in person.....I don't know why. It's not pulling, it's like it just puckers there.

I think I might have missed the original post with the sweater. Not knowing what is was supposed to look like, my first thought was the sweater had bunched int he photo and you were going to tug it back into place.

I agree with Ceit. The fit isn't as pleasing to my eye as it should be. And we all posted at the same time. Perhaps a return?

Yeah, on the model it lies flat there and doesn't sag like on your sweater. And it isn't your body doing that, it's the sweater. I wonder if another one would fit better and not have that problem.

Yah it has that pucker even when it's just lying on the table, it's like it comes from the seam there at the angle. I still have the tags on, perhaps I should go try to exchange it next weekend.

Assuming I can get a new one that doesn't pucker weirdly like this one, is the length and fit ok? It's the xs so I can't go smaller but I could go to a s.

Yes, I like everything about it except the weird pulling/sagging. The small might be worth a try, but the shoulders look like they fit you well here.

Good. I can at least try on both when I'm there anyway. I do like where the waistband hits though, it seems to work well with shorts and skirts. Yah the puckering is so weird because I didn't notice it until the photos. That's why we post k/r I guess!

Love the fit and style of this sweater and the colour will work so well with your bottoms. I do think it would be worth seeing if you can exchange and hope that the pucker is just a "one off" kind of thing.

I think that pucker is intentional. I like it.

I like it. Who is it by? I love the asymmetry. The pucker thing doesn't necessarily bother me. It's a knit with drape, that's what my eye sees.

It's Club Monaco Janet. You don't see a pucker on the models one. I will probably be at the mall when I visit my parents anyway, so it won't hurt to try another and see if it's something they all do, or just mine

The puckering doesn't bother me. I think the way the sweater is constructed, that is the way is would naturally hang given that it's an open knit. Though I could be totally off. Love the asymmetry, would be a great addition to your wardrobe!

Oh, I thought the puckering was intentional, like a draped panel among flat panels. Hm, I think I still like it. Maybe my monitor shows me something slightly different?

I am just going on how different it looks on the product site. I think Rae when you look at them when you are in store if they all do that, then it must be intentional.

I thought the pucker/gather was intentional too. I like it, it looks like it's part of the asymmetry of the sweater.

FWIW Rae, if the pucker is on all the sweaters, I would still keep it 'cause I do think it's fantastic on you and suits your style very well. The pucker would not be a deal break to me.

Thanks for all the help! I will check the ones in store, if for some reason just mine puckers I think I will change it, and if they all pucker I will still keep it. I like it a lot and DH really loves it. Also, in person I don't see the pucker as much as in photo.

I wouldn't think it was off except for the stock photo. It's very Helmut Lang-ish. But seeing the picture I'd be annoyed with the pucker now. Good thing you can go check them out in person!

FYI Rae, they don't carry this at the CM store in Halifax. I don't know if there is a Dartmouth store or not...

Ohhhh, thanks Elizabeth. No there is only the store in Halifax. I guess I'd have to mail it back to try a different one...hmmm, now I will have to think about what to do...
