K/R - Woolovers cardigan ETA More pics

The Woolovers cardigan I had ordered ages ago finally arrived. It's kind of a granddad look. It's this one in charcoal grey. I'm not sure about it. First the fit (although it would probably still shrink a bit, same as the pullover did), then the color. I thought the charcoal would be a good neutral, but it is rather dark. They do have the cardigan in the same lovely green as my new pullover, maybe that would have been better. Although that one had brown buttons...

What do you think? Should I keep or return? Or exchange it for another color?

I like it very much, but I have many cardigans of all shapes, colors and weights, including wool ones as my essential toppers year round. I do not like the one in 6 nearly as much.

Are you sure they haven't sent black? It looks a lot darker then the photo of the charcoal one on the website. I clicked on charcoal to see and yours does read very dark from your photos compared to it. I like the idea of it for you though. How do you feel about the darkness of the colour?

I have a sugar eye for Woolovers' charcoal color. My charcoal V-neck in real life looks like a nice neutral dark with lighter flecks, without the harshness of black (and I am not a fan of solid black). I like how the pockets are not so obvious on the darker color of the cardigan.
If you do exchange for the green sweater buttons are easy to replace, and a place to show a little creative style.

I really like it. Great fluid fit but still doesn't look too big when worn open. I have a slight preference for the charcoal over the green, but it might depend on what other sweaters you have in your wardrobe (which I know you are in the process of upgrading).

Thanks for the input, everyone. First off, it's definitely the charcoal. It's not as dark IRL as it looks in the pictures. It's definitely dark grey and it has these lighter flecks, as Laurinda mentioned. It's much more flattering than plain black. And It would definitely go with everything! Maybe the problem was that I paired it with the light green to take the pictures, the contrast is quite high. But I thought you could see the fit better that way. I'll go try it on now with some different layers underneath to see if a lower contrast might help.

I'm thinking I'll keep it. The fit seems to be alright and I won't have the hassle with returns.

Okay, I'm definitely keeping it. I thought about an outfit I could build with the cardigan that would make me feel really great wearing it and came up with this. Totally love it! It's all in the styling...

Tags are off and it has already been washed. It will take some time to dry, but you can look forward to seeing some outfits with this cardigan soon.

Oh what a fun cardi! Glad you decided to keep it. We have fairly similar colouring & I happen to love wearing dark charcoal, especially if it has flecks.

It reminds me of the navy one I got from j. Crew. Yes, a bit of a grandfather look, but what the heck? I think charcoal is a great dark neutral for us summers. And I have already worn my blue one a lot of times. It is very easy to throw on and works with just about everything. I think you will be happy with this.

Thanks, Suz. The navy cardi looks great. And it has no pockets! I'm normally not a fan, but on the grey they aren't all that visible so that's alright. I do think you're right, this has great potential to be a "just throw it on over everything" piece.

I was going to say it would look gorgeous with a skirt or skinny jeans, so I love the pics you added. Very 'badass librarian chic'. (Which is a good thing. Obvs!)

I love Woolovers but I wish all of their styles were designed in M and F versions, rather than some being unisex.

Thanks Reshet! I'm on the lookout for a new pair of skinnies. And yes, I agree with the fit of Woolovers, it would be nice to have the choice between fits.
