K/R - Vince Jacket - new pictures

The Vince jacket arrived today. I love the feel of it but I thin the sleeves may be a little long. Although, every long sleeved sweater, top, or jacket I have tried on lately has had sleeves that hit me like this jacket. Is that the new style? Anyway, do you think it is a 10? For the price, it needs to be a 10.

ETA - added pics with sleeves tucked. (please ignore the slippers)

I agree that the sleeves may be a little long, but that can be adjusted.
I might prefer the overall length to be shorter or longer too, are you able to try a size down for comparison?

It's funny that Lyn D. should say that about the length, because before I read her response, I was asking myself what this jacket would look like if it were a little shorter. Judging from the back, it looks like it may be a tad big. I guess my overall feeling on it is that it's OK but not a 10.

I would not be able to size down because it fits my shoulders perfectly. I also think the length is wrong for me.

Beautiful color on you… and I love the drape and cut, but I agree that something about the overall length is not quite right. It is not a perfect 10.

I actually think the longer length is fresh and my sleeves fit like this too. I am a little worried about the way the flaps fall, which make it look more like a cardigan/sweater to my eye. I don't know and it makes me sad too, because I know how fab this jacket feels (I have the colorblock one which is shorter)....

I don't think it's a 10. There are things I like about it, but somehow I don't think it's doing you justice -- the fit does not seem to be perfect, although I can see from the shoulders that sizing down is not the answer. I wonder if it's the length, as has been mentioned.

I don't think it looks too long at all, but the sleeves are definitely throwing off the look, and it does seem a bit big through the back. Too bad, but there will be something even better waiting in the wings for you.

Missvee is onto something, Deb. Perhaps the sleeves are what is throwing off the overall look. Have you tried scrunching them?

Can you tuck under the length of the sleeves for a little more structure? I love the fit on the body and neckline.

It seems as if it is lacking structure for you. Roll those sleeves under (or scrunch them) so we can see that. Show us a couple of ways you might wear it.

Interesting, Deb… the shortening of the sleeves does make a difference to my eye, especially when viewed from the front and side.

Wow. I think length of jacket is the difference. My shorter jacket looks good with long/scrunchy sleeves. Your longer one is better with a more traditional sleeve. Interesting!

I do think that rolling up the sleeves makes a big difference, but my personal feeling is that this is still not a 10. For me, what I am seeing is that the length of the jacket cuts you in half. Having the jacket be more like 1/3 of your height would perhaps look better (?). I guess I am very sensitive to proportions, because I am very short and have to have all the help I can get!

I really like the length of the front, and I do like the shorter sleeves, but to me, the back length should be longer. I was expecting a much more fluid fit. The feel the leather is wonderful but I do not feel fab in it. I think I should put it on and not want to take it off, that would make it a 10. I will play with it some more and see how I feel.

It looks much better with the sleeves shorter. Even so, I do not think it is a 10. There's something wrong with the way the lapels drape. If this were a much less expensive jacket, I would say you should keep it. At this price, you should love it without any reservations.

Sorry to be a wet blanket. If you decide to return it, you will find something you like even more.

I don't think it is a 10 but it is very good. I think a similar cut with more structured shoulders might work better.

I really like it on you deb - the fit seems good & the colour is lovely. What would you actually wear it with? Would you try it with some different outfits before you decide?
Could you also try it with a sleeveless top underneath? Not that the sleeves look tight but I know with my thin leather jacket it took me awhile to feel comfortable wearing it with a long-sleeve top underneath.

Caro, I do have a sleeveless top on under it. I would not be able to wear it with a cotton button down but a silk would work..

Deb, speaking from my own experience, if you don't feel fab in it, I would return it. You're probably not just looking for a utilitarian item but something you LOVE. In the past, when I have bought things that I didn't love, they didn't grow on me over time. They were always just "there," useful pieces of clothing. At this price point, I don't think you should settle if your heart isn't in it.

My goal for the Vince jacket was that it had to work easily and make me feel utterly awesome at the price. Can we see how you'd style it? And how much effort would it require?
