K/R - Tux Jacket and a Blazer

A couple of jackets I am trying to decide on (and as long as I was wearing a sorta jacket outfit, I thought I would pop them on!)

#1. Glen Green Jacket with black at the collar
#2 Tuxedo Jacket - you can't see the rhinestne buttons in the pics. They close the front and are on the sleeves.

DD would not stay out of the pictures this morning, so I included her! She is pattern mixing with the socks. Yes, daddy dressed her this morning, and I have learned not to question what he puts her in if I want him to keep helping!

I am not a good judge of jacket fit, but I hear ya on not criticizing an involved Dad - it's a good lesson to learn. Also, learn to love pattern mixing! It is my DDs' (3 and 7) favourite fashion statement. Multicoloured striped tights, purple small houndstooth skirt, and flowered top was a recent outfit the 3 yo chose

I got them both at Talbots, and *sigh* they are both MUCH cheaper than when I bought them. I wonder if they will do a price adjustment:

I like how both of these fit your shoulder and define your waist better than the red one in your other post. Your DD is adorable! How old? Mine just turned 2 and loves her hair that way

Myy DD is 14 months. She "puts up" with getting her hair done, but we like it as it keeps it out of her eyes. Also, harder to smoosh food into!

Yeah! I'm voting yes on both too! These look very nice on you, Thistle. They fit and flatter. Definitely see if they will do a price adjustment. Especially if they still have them in stock in your size, it makes sense to give you a price adjustment. Otherwise, you could just confirm that you can "return" the originals, then reorder at the lower sale price, keep whichever ones of the two versions fit you best and return the other. With that in mind, they should be happy to give you the adjustment. I would also emphasize that you are a great customer for them. I'd never looked twice at Talbots, but you look so fantastic in these that it has definitely opened my eyes! So see? They are reaching new customers because of you.

And OMGosh! Your daughter is adorable!!! Mine refuses to let me put her hair in ponytails or even put a barrette in, so I'm more than a little in awe of your super cutie with her ponytails!

I know Talbots is not too popular, but I have found that their clothes fit me very well. The quality is quite nice too. I buy a lot of basics from them, and I have only had one issue I can think of, and it was on a tank. So honestly, wasn't worth messing with.

A quality pair of washable black dress pants? In my size? And my size fits every time, just a question of do I like it? Yup, that is why I shop there

I thought I recognized the green jacket -- I don't have it but I have admired it from afar. I think they both fit great and are very flattering! Keep them both. Definitely see if you can get a price adjustment -- most retailers want to keep customers happy.

I remember having pigtails like your DD and I think her Daddy did a great job. I like both jackets on you and, yes, go for the price adjustment. I did the same thing at GAP not too long ago.

Thistle, I wouldn't say that Talbots isn't popular! Several of my friends shop there almost exclusively and they look great. And the things you've purchased look phenomenal on you!!! Very fashionable and well fitted, and that's the goal, right?

I haven't shopped at Talbots much for two reasons, really. First, they were always "grown up" clothing to me and it took me some time to move out of being a young dresser and into dressing more professionally. In other words, it took me time to move into their target audience. Second, their fits aren't that well suited for my body shape. Nothing positive or negative about that. It's just how it is. I don't have a pronounced waist. Their cuts are too tight on the waist for me or too loose on the hips, even their straight cuts. I fit Banana Republic's and JCrew's fit model better than Talbots. I'm sure there are lots of folks who don't shop at BR or JCrew because their stuff doesn't work on them. Boden is the same. It looks phenomenal on some of my friends and lots of folks around here wear it, but on me? Almost always a disaster. That doesn't say anything negative about BR or JCrew or Boden. They just aren't the right ones for me. I bet that there are lots of gals on the forum who own great Talbots pieces. You certainly do!

You are so right, K can shop! I really feel like Talbots was designed more for the hour glass figure or even the pear. Much less slim rectangle, which is what BR and JCrew seem to cater to.

Now I need to check out Boden.

LOVE these jackets! I love the color of the green, and the lower stance and longer proportions of the black. Talbots is working for you -- and I think Boden would be an interested place to check out, too.

BTW --- dd is adorable, and clearly loves her Mama!

Yes, I got my cashmere sweater from Ann Taylor. First time i have ever found non-itchy cashmere!

That is another good store for the curvy gal. Not all sizes are sold in the store, but you can get more online. And, the store will take them all as returns, even if it is not a size they normally sell!

Thistle both of these look fab on you. I like the length and the cut on both. Very flattering. How do they look open? I think they will both be excellent additions to your wardrobe. Your little one is beautiful:)
