K/R - TNF Rain Jacket - YouLookFab Forum

I'm shopping for a rain jacket for Scotland because the only one I have is a winter jacket and I need something lightweight. I've ordered four jackets so far including this one and it's the best fit of the bunch. The others weren't worth showing.

It's the The North Face Sutherland Jacket in Cosmic Blue. It's a true Gore-Tex which is only affordable because it was 50% off. If I would get it I would probably also get a TNF fleece to have that zip-in option. In the pictures I'm wearing my loungewear fleece underneath it.

The fit is alright, although I'd love to have a bit more wiggle room around the hips. And the sleeves are much too long (which was the case with all jackets).

What do you think? Should I keep it? Or search for something better? Without discount I can only get a non Gore-Tex jacket. Although I don't know if that really matters IRL. Can anyone recommend a brand which fits a petite pear better?

Astrid - it looks great. I really like it on but you need to be able to layer in scotland especially. Do you feel you habe enough room? Nothing worse than too snug!!

Thanks Gryffin! I've plenty of room through the body, but the hem hits just at my widest part and I worry that it might end up being too snug with another layer zipped in, especially because the jacket has no two way zipper.

Okay, after trying it a few more times with different layers I've decided to return it. It's just a bit too short overall and could have more room around the hips. I've placed another order with two more jackets, a bit more expensive but also marked down. Hopefully one of them works out. I do want the jacket to fit right.

Astrid - I think that's a good choice. IMHO, I like a longer raincoat (although I thought this looked very well on you) because I like to have my butt covered (to be blunt!!) It's warmer and better protection and something to sit on if you are outside especially good for travel. I also think it's a more versatile length. I bought a coat too tight and it was spendy and I do regret it. Coats, of any type, should always have room, it's worth the aggravation!! Good luck, I hope one of the new ones works out!!
