K/R - Red coat

So I was shopping with my sister the other day and she convinced me to get this coat for autumn. It was a total impulse buy in store. It's bright red (my photo looks pinkish, which isn't quite right), A-line and gave my apple-y figure a waist. The coat also comes in pure black.

But now that I have time to think about it, I am not so sure if it works for me. Is it too loud for class? As a broke student, the $130 price tag also means that I will probably be living on PB&J sandwiches for the next month XD

I don't know... do you think it's worth it?

It is a completely gorgeous coat and it's worth the $130 pricetag. Also, there is no such thing as "too loud" when it comes to outerwear for class. Did you need a coat anyway? Also, are you really going to feel the financial pinch? If you don't need it and you don't feel you can really afford it, maybe it needs to go back.

It is a beautiful coat, very flattering fit and it does look more pink in your photo. I can't imagine spending that much on a coat though especially if budget strapped. I would not purchase if it really impacts your food purchases or paying utilities.

I do have enough to wear, although my wardrobe doesn't have a lot of reds. My financial situation isn't totally dismal, as I do have a mix of scholarships/grants/loans/ and savings from summer. I can afford it, but I feel guilty for spending that much on a piece of clothing because I am normally very careful with my money.

I love this coat on you and, if it feels good, go for it! PB&J is a high-protein food and you'll be fine. That's my vote. I love the buttons, the angle of the coat with the buttons and the color. You are one fashionable student!

Beautiful coat, and it looks fab on you. Really fab, but does it fill a wardrobe hole? For the $130, on a college budget ( I don't miss that part of college!) it has to be a need IMO.

I think it's a great buy - the fit is wonderful on you. I'd think cost per wear - how many days a year could/would you wear it by how many years to see if it's worth it for you.

I'd like to see it with your face, and also with collar open like in pic 3, before ruling. Also I'm not sure about the length; it may just be the angle of the photo. Where is it hitting you? At knee or below?

Yes I'm being picky but if it's a major expenditure and you are unsure, let's be picky!! The color is gorgeous and it is defining your waist and giving you an hourglass shape. I just can't tell from the photos what it is doing for your upper half. And the angle of the photos is making it look like it may be a tad long.

As I am on the tall side, the coat just hits the top of my kneecap - maybe even a tiny bit shorter.

I also just got a coupon in my email for 20% off, which cuts it to $104! Hmm price adjustment or return

price adjustment...this coat, if you will wear it, will set you apart, brighten any day and be a great piece for many years. But if you won't wear it, because you are intimidated by the color, then return. Only you can know if you will wear it. Standing out, being unique and daring to wear what you love is a step to defining your own style. I don't know if you have defined it yet. cannot remember many other posts, but I would keep it because I love the color and would wear it. will you?

I love it on you & I agree with other posts. If it is not a wardrobe hole & you have other needs for the $ then reconsider. If however you don't feel attractive in your other coats I think this one is worth the money.

If you can afford it, keep it. If you really love how you look in it, you will wear it for a long time. I think it looks just lovely!

Okay then it's just the photo angle making it look longer. Thanks for clarifying. I vote KEEP. Please, do not order it in black instead. I have a cobalt blue coat that is quite bright, so I do understand your reservations. But I wear that coat All. The. Time. I vastly prefer it to a black coat. Because the reality is, in the winter months, I wear a lot of black. Pop a bright color coat over an otherwise mostly black outfit... and it's just the ticket. It also cheers me up on a gloomy winter day... or when winter drags on way too long.

The only consideration you need to worry about is what color scarves, hat, gloves, and handbag. Red is, in my opinion, a neutral, so it'll go with nearly anything.

You must keep - the coupon was a sign that you absolutely must heed!
And just think, how happy you will be when you slip this baby on - the colour is so wonderful - everyone will cheer up when they see you!
