K/R - new silhouette - ETA more photos

I mentioned before that I want to try different pants shapes and here it is. I stumbled upon those 2 pairs on sales rack in & Other Stories. They were deeply discounted, got both for 65 Euros (orange 25 and magenta 40). Maybe they were so cheap for a reason and I have sale googles? There were no other sizes, so that is not an option if you think other size would be better. I also need to decide quickly, we don’t have such a generous return policy, especially on sales items. They do look similar, but magenta pair is more substantial stretch wool, and very high waisted, while neon orange pair is more flowy summery fabric and a medium rise.
I am wearing them with my new blouse from a previous K/R, it was only item I kept from that lot in the end.
What is the verdict?

Keep the magenta, super flattering. Not keen on the fit of the orange, shapeless.

I like the magenta! The orange ones look like they might be a bit tight at the crotch point then oversized everywhere else? Also the lower rise isn’t as good. It’s possibly the angle or your stance. But since they are summer and I believe your weight is in flux, I would pass.

I also agree that magenta pair is excellent on you, please keep it. Don't like the orange pair as much, something about the fit in the waist area, and the low rise is bothering me.

I do like the magenta pants, the orange don’t seem quite as flattering, but it could just be your position in the photo. It has a lower rise and 2 pleats on each side compared to the magenta pants, so perhaps that’s a factor too in how it appears.

Very useful to see the 2 pair side by side. Magenta is a beautiful fit and very flattering-and a bit dressier. The orange could do great for more casual, in case you are happy with the fit on crotch and hip area -but I would crop them a few inches for summer.

Both colors are fab and some of the colors I’ve liked best on you. You do a wonderful job pairing these hot brights with classy neutrals.

I do think you should consider cropping the orange ones. Pin them up, try with different shoes and tops, and see what you think.

Magenta is a good fit, if you have more cool-weather companions for it. Bright colored wool tailored pants are hard to find at good price poianx can be excellent winter pick- me-up as go with lot of neutrals.

Well, I hate to admit but yes, orange pants don’t fit that great, and would be better in a size up which is not available. I love the bright, almost neon orange, and was looking for orange bottoms for long time, but I should not settle. I don’t want to crop either, I have enough cropped pants, full length is change that I am looking for.
Orange pants are my current size that is getting more and more tight, while magenta pants are one size up, or better to accept and call it my new size

I too vote magenta and think that wide-legs often look better with quite a high rise. It gives more length to balance out the width.

Well, I certainly wouldn’t advise you to buy anything that feels tight or “doesn’t fit great”, especially considering your recent concerns about medication-related weight fluctuations. The magenta ones look really nice. I’d return the orange ones.

Orange pants don’t feel too tight, and I was hoping that poor fit is not so obvious but better to hear it now

I see zero issue with the fit! If they are comfortable, anchie. Make sure! DO THE SIT DOWN TEST. Gorgeously on trend. At the new shorter full length too. Wear with the right shoes

The pink have a higher rise - as fab and you wear the look well with your long rise! People prefer them on you I think, which is why the pink was more popular on this thread. Objectively though - the orange are a great fit too. Simply different.

Again, make sure you are comfy in the shorter rise.

Go by how they feel. I see what people meant about the rise on the orange ones, or rather, the crotch point -- I'd do the sit test for sure. Speaking from experience, that is a fit issue that can be bothersome. It's also a frustrating one because often the pant fits in all other respects and the size up is too big (if that is the problem).

Otherwise, I'd keep the magenta for sure and I hope the orange ones work out for you.

I don’t like the shorter rise with the pleats and full legs. I have some pants that I thought had good rise fit, belt loops and pleats but turns out it’s too low and sit funny on my hips and top’s won’t stay put . So are not as wearable tucked in. I would feel differently about lower rise with flat front or sailor pants type item.
They are a fun color so you have to weigh, first are they comfortable- meaning if the fit of the rise and waist are annoying even when not looking at them, then that’s a no. Then next is can you style them so rise doesn’t look funny to you yourself & you like the outfits you can make.

Magenta is a yes! Love the colour of the orange ones, but the rise looks too short from the front - giving a camel toe look (sorry!)

I suggest return the orange ones, and keep looking, whilst having fun styling the magenta ones.

I love them both. I am with Angie that the orange are just a different fit — provided they don’t feel tight.

Colours are both outstanding.

I like both but personally like orange a smidge more ( must be my preference for lower rise ).

I think the second set of photos show the orange pair a bit better. If they are both comfortable, keep both. The magenta looks perfect, and I think the second photos of the orange ones show those fit differently, but look fine. Angie has the experienced eye, and you can decide based on how you feel in them seated and standing. Love both colors...I can see them fitting nicely into your wardrobe.

Well, I actually love the orange trousers, and see no problem with the fit. Just different from the magenta. If they feel good on, I'd keep them.

The orange pants look great with the print blouse! Since they aren’t super snug in the hips, you could probably get a bit more length in the rise by altering. Do you have a tailor or alterations shop? Give them a call and ask. Since they are no returns, it might be worth a try.

Both look good and different to me. I think the fit of the orange is more of a stretch from your usual style - but that is what you want! I would assess whether the price point is ok for an experiment with a lot of potential.

They are both fab colours for you. I like how the magenta looks, better, but I do like the orange with the print too.
I don’t like pants to feel at all tight on me, I won’t wear them if they are.

After lot of consideration, I have decided to return the orange pants. Even though they were very affordable, and beautiful color, my one in one out rule made me think harder. They are summer pants so anyway I would not wear them for a while and was worried how they would fit in a few months. I think main issue is that they are supposed to sit lower on my hips but were too tight for that and were making crotch point looking weird. And I also think that I would prefer skirt over pants as my orange summer bottom.
