K/R - navy & black shoes

I've been on a navy & black kick lately, and while I know I can wear my black pumps with this navy dress, I thought that a navy/black shoe would be interesting, especially when I wear a black jacket over the navy dress.

Do either of these work with the dress? I know both will work with pants, and so I will keep one pair for sure. But if the booties work well with the dress, I'll keep the booties, and if the Oxfords work better with the dress, I'll keep those. The oxfords are more comfortable, and I will likely wear them with jeans, whereas I don't think I will wear the booties with jeans very often.

Sorry I cut part of the foot off in the side view of shoe #1. Hope you can still get the idea.

I like both shoes a lot. I think the booties work better with the dress. Having said that, I am wearing a pair of heeled oxfords right now and I wear them all the time. I think the oxfords might look better with a pair of patterned tights. Is that the notch neck shift from Boden?

Both look great, but I too prefer the first pair with your dress (but if you feel they are not comfortable enough, then perhaps you should reconsider. Uncomfy shoes can become wardrobe orphans very quickly-(. LOVE navy with black!

If the first pair are comfortable enough, I'd keep them to wear especially with that dress. The oxfords are nice too, though. I'm not much help but love navy and black together.

The booties are fairly comfortable as far as dressier heels go, though not like an Aerosole. The oxford heels are chunkier, which I always find ups the comfort level.

Honestly, at this point, if the booties look OK with the dress (and thus skirts, etc), I think I'll keep both, knowing that I will get more wear out of the oxfords but still look good in the booties.

I might like it better with a sheer navy or black tight, as RedM suggests. To my eye the bare leg is jarring with this type of shoe, but honestly, I find bare legs jarring in the fall all the time, so I think my eye is just not trained to "see" them with closed toe, darker colored shoes.

I think with textured hose the oxfords will look fab with the dress.

The booties look very elegant.

I'm glad you are keeping both! I was going to say that I prefer the bootie with the dress but I really like the oxfords! So I wouldn't be much help

Do you mind sharing the brand of the oxfords or where you got them?

Thanks, Susie! The oxfords are Kenneth Cole Reaction and I got them at Macy's. The style is called " Full of Life". This Wednesday is Macy's "take 30% off 3 pair of shoes" sale, and I got assurance from the saleswoman that I could bring my receipt in for a price adjustment (because I need the shoes earlier on Wednesday than the store opens).
