I am attaching pictures of the blue Moto from earlier this weekend opened and closed. Many of you had wanted to see it open, and honestly, this was the first chance I had. Rather than bump that thread, I thought I would start fresh.

I ordered another moto from the same maker of the blue one. It is stretchy and much more comfortable. I ordered it in an unusual grey and black pattern and wondering if I should opt for the plain black.

Collar on both of these is a bit wonky. Not sure if it is just me or if that is common in moto jackets.

I added stock images so you can see what the designer was going for.

I like #1 best. It looks good open, also.

Well just to confuse you I love the second one (grey #4 and 5) on you. I think that one is fantastic both ways!

I prefer #2. I like the texture of it better. The fact that it's more comfortable is icing on the cake.

I like both but I prefer number 1. Number 2 is a bit more fluid and 1 is more structured, so it depends on what look you prefer. I love the colors of 1 on you.

Well , I'm a little swayed by the styling, so I like the original blue contrasting with the dark pants, and think it had a lot of springy potential-- seems like it could go with black, navy, white , cream, hot pink, sharp greens.
Then, the charcoal IS an interesting subtle pattern, and if it's comfortable and the other is not , that makes it better, but how would you be wearing it? It makes an pretty " dark" outfit over black, but would you wear but over colors like cobalt or red? Is it for winter or spring looks? Does it pattern mix with print skirts and such?

I'm finding I really have to think about what bottoms (and tops) I expect to wear with a topper before I can decide what color and pattern. If black pants, then I want something lighter or brighter. If tweedy or pinstripe, then may need a solid. And so on.

I do not pattern mix much. I just don't care for it on me, so patterns are out. I don't own any patterned trousers, but I do skirts.

As for trousers, I really need a topper that goes with dark bottoms. I prefer ink, black and grey trousers. I have a pair of cream and white ones as well, but they see little wear with all the slush and mess, especially in the spring.

I have no colored bottoms. Nothing red, cobalt etc. I have Black, ink, and grey in a variety of silhouettes with a couple of white bottoms.

I'm voting for #2. I have a black ponte moto (you just saw it in my post) that has been a great piece for me for years and now, sadly, should be replaced. I love that the second one has some stretch, a little texture, and a shorter, slightly cheekier, length. Now, the first one is great, too, but it reads a little more like a work blazer to me.

I much prefer the fit and color of 2 but I suspect that is my own bias!

I liket hem both. #1 is better with your coloring, but the black one is just so ... sleek. Who is the maker? I might have to try one ...

I much prefer #2. I think that #1 doesn't fit you as well; it looks like there is extra fabric under the armpits. #2 creates a "sleeker" look, imho. It also appears to me (though I'm not sure if it's optical illusion) that #2 is a bit shorter than #1, which makes the proportions a bit better (#1 seems to cut you in half). Maybe it's not shorter but just appears that way because it is cut more straight across at the bottom than the other one?

On the second one, I see that the model has hers unzipped quite a bit more than you do. What would happen if you unzipped it more, about halfway down? Or maybe just an inch more? There are placements called "balance points" on your torso that can help things be in good proportion, and one of them is calculated by taking the length of your head and then moving that same distance down your torso, starting at the bottom of your chin. And that is the point where you would have the moto opening start (although if your cami lies above this spot, you might not get the full effect). If you look at the stock photos, you will see that the place where the "V" of the moto neck starts is about one head length from the model's chin.

I hope I'm explaining this right. I have a sinus infection and am a little wonky.

I think they're both really cute and look great on you, but would choose #2 if you only keep one. The gray is sleeker and looks more like it could go with a bunch of different colors and types of clothing, while #1 seems more like a centerpiece item to dress around. Then there's the comfort difference….

I absolutely like nr 1-2-3(so, the jacket nr 6)! Good fit and very flatering, and is like a showstopper with that piping on the collar and down to hem! It's making an impact of a good confidency! Plus, wearing a lighter colored jacket allows you to wear a column of dark color underneath, wich is itself very flattering and practical IMHO. Darker jacket from 4-5,7 will have to be paired with lighter outfits, to make a bit of contrast, depends on what you aim for.

Hmmm, "bugger" as we say in Oz. What a choice!. I prefer #1 on you, just seems much sharper all round, but #2 is also fine and if its more comfy....

Or keep looking... Not much help I know.

Thistle, I like both of these jackets on you very much. I really like the structure they add to your shape, and the modern vibe they give you. The first jacket does have a very fresh springtime look about it, which I am somewhat taken with. It feels like it would be a fun thing to reach for and play with in the spring (but that may be a reflection of where I am emotionally right now, so sick of winter!). But the sleekness of jacket 2 works also, and taking in the comfort factor, which is so important, I would have to vote ultimately for that one. BTW, I think the wonky collar is a moto jacket peculiarity. So not a problem with the jackets.

I think you'll get more wear from and enjoy #2 more, but my heart is with the light colour and tipping of #1. As Viva said, that might be more a reflection of my mood than reality! I would definitely keep #2 in any case.

Tough choice because they have such different visual feels. My eye is drawn to #1 because of the lighter color and detailing. The comfort of #2 would be a huge plus, and I see 'you' more with this one because it feels more subdued.

I like them both on you. They're very flattering. Sorry that's not much of a help. Do you wear mostly dark trousers? If so, I'd keep #1 because I think it will go nicely with dark slacks and the contrast trim on it gives it more of a polished look (dress it up or down). #2 I think would look best more casually, like with dark jeans. Although it looks like the collar on that one needs to be steamed and shaped to get it to lay as it should (based on the model photos you provided).

Tough one! I like the colour and tipping of 1 better, but for my personal taste, I think 2 is super!

Which one would you reach for more? If 1 always feels too constricting, then I think you will always leave it hanging in the closet.

I prefer the first one, but they both look nice on you. I think the blue is a good color on you and it would go with all your neutral colored pants.

Sorry, I haven't read all the replies, but my first instinct is to say #2 - it fits well and has a sleeker look overall. Having said that, I am still liking #1 for it's texture and colouring. Sorry - that's no help at all!

I loooove #1 on you. I think the fit is flattering, the colour/texture is gorgeous on you, and the black tipping makes it graphic and interesting. I liked it before and I like it even better open over a column of black. It looks like modern, edgy Chanel.

(...but of course disregard if it is not comfortable)

Both are killer.

I prefer the look of #1 - crisper and more chic - but am going to suggest you get #2 because it's more comfy. That will make you wear it more often when you pick up DD. Well done. xo

I understand the urge/pressure to get something different and a bit out of your comfort zone but I have to say that I much prefer #2. It looks like it fits you much better. For some reason the piping on #1 almost makes it look like it's too big in the shoulders. (??) I think you'll get a lot of use out of it, especially if it's comfy. I don't see any collar wonky-ness in the photos.

I like them both on you! The second one has the perfect sleeve length, sleeves are a little long on the first jacket.

If you want to look dressy and sleek then #2. I would wear #1. It looks more fun and flirty. It also works better with your skin tone, plus I adore it with the dark denim. Throw in a pair of booties and walk with attitude

Tough one, I love the colour in #1, but if you aren't going to reach for it as much because of comfort, go for #2.
