K/R - JCrew Floral Sweatshirt

At home today with a sick DS - looks like a classic case of the flu...poor little guy!

Last week I tried to order the JCrew BF Turtleneck navy, but it sold out after I'd placed my order. Their customer service department called me, and I was blown over with their care and concern. They asked me if I would like to place an order for something else, and Angie had just posted a recommendation for this sweatshirt. So spur-of-the-moment I gave it a whirl. I've never experienced such fab customer service. They were so kind and threw in free express shipping.

So it just arrived so I threw it on with what I'm already wearing.

I'll defer to you. What do you think? Total honesty please. In Angie's post, the sweatshirt is used more as a top layer, but I'm having a rough time layering anything these days. I tend to just wear my knits as is. I'm totally open. Tips? Critiques? Thanks in advance.

I think this looks great! A nice statement sweater. I was eyeing that one but decided the print was too large for my short stature so I'm enjoying it vicariously on you Hope your little guy feels better soon.

I absolutely do love the sweatshirt...The colors are neutral near to my heart and fabulous...I would like to see it with a collar shirt underneath but as is is just great...I love the look with jeans as you have...would like it with black skinny pants...This one could be dressed up or down...would like to see it with a pencil and skinny heels...

I like it - it's a really fun, unique piece that fits you perfectly! What more can we ask for? I love it styled both ways (yours and theirs). I bet you can also make it work for a dressier occasion with a skirt and shirt underneath. I'm dying over your hair now too. First your jeans, now your hair. Next I'll be moving into your house.

Wow - I'm surprised at the positive comments! Honestly, I'm on the fence bc I feel like I look washed out. I'm wondering if I should consciously work to avoids greys & blacks. If this were in a colour it might feel more like a slam dunk. However, this might be a fun piece to amp up my daily casual wear.. I rarely wear pattern so this is a change for me.

I'm sitting in a doctor's office so will check back. DH verges on hypochondriac when it comes to our kids. He's worried about strep since DS has to travel for a hockey tournament this weekend. Anyhoo I'll check back, and maybe try some styling a at home. Sitting here I'd talked myself into returning it but will ponder....

Jackie, I agree with all the above and am enjoying that you can wear this type of big pattern. I saw it in the store and was sure IT would wear ME, but you got it going on! I don't think it washes you out either, though you could always do a bright lip or rosy cheeks to counter your perception.

I think the fit and style are really good on you. I don't think it's a bad color at all but in this photo, it does not look like " your colors" either. So not being a nay- sayer, but it's more a graphic neutral. That's it's appeal and would not be the same in colors.

I really love the sweatshirt on you...the fit is perfect and you have the shape to carry it off without looking frumpy. Love it with the jeans and boots as is!

Mia - I ordered a small, and then was worried it would be much to big based on Angie's reviews that it fits big. I have another JCrew pullover in an XS which is perfect (but it has elbow length sleeves). I don't have a lot of experience with JCrew fit. I do, however, have really long arms and a long torso. The arms are perfect on me, and I think the fit is good, but loose. It's an oversize fit so you may need to size down. Hope that helps! It's very soft and comfy

I have the long torso but not the long arms. I have been finding J. Crew sizing to be less consistent lately and I have been needing to size down more often. I used to pretty much always fit the small except on terribly fitted items which I sometimes sized up.
