K/R - have I gone too far?

What do you think about this lime green loafers that arrived this morning? They are extremely comfortable considering the hight, but also because of platforms they don’t feel high at all. Wearing them here with new lime Zara pants and old dress that is getting too tight across hips (please ignore the wrinkles, I haven’t ironed it since I washed it end of last summer) . Can this dress be saved worn this way? Or is it just too much? This particular lime green is one that I want to add for spring summer. Those 3 colors in outfit are not exact match, shoes being darkest and dresses the lightest.

Anchie I love the pants and like the shoes, unsure about the comfort though. My personal opinion is that I do find the dress “too much” with it, since you ask. If you love it though that’s a good reason to go for it?

I am giving shoes a home test to see how they feel after some time on my feet.
Another option is those sling backs in photo, I usually don’t have problem with sling backs falling off my feet. Maybe I should order those too and compare? Or those sandals? I want change from more sporty chunky sandals that I wore last few summers. They are both little bit blingy so not sure if that is my style, but I am trying to be open to different things.

I love those loafers but would prefer them with white or another light neutral. High platforms are definitely easier to wear and more comfortable than other heels. You minus the height of the platform and then you have the real height of the shoe. Plus the overall wideness of the heels are stable. I like the dress as a semi-open topper. You have given me an idea as I have a khaki dress the same that is too tight on the hips which I have not worn for two years. Gonna try it like this for spring. The sling backs and sandals are cute but a completely different vibe.

Star - let us know if your dress experiment works. Regarding loafers, they are very stable and just right shape for my feet. I have high vamp and often find loafers too shallow. I would definitely wear them with white and light neutrals, but wanted to test more extreme version that I was unsure of.

I really like the dress and the pants combo. It’s looks elegant, and the colour is spicy and fun.
I might wear sandals, in a gold tone, with it. Or white kitten heels? Even Needs a small pop of another colour, to my eye.

I love the loafers with the pants and they will also work very well with other more neutral pants (white, cream, grey, etc.). Definitely order the other 2 pairs to compare fit and comfort. I can see them with lighter weight summer clothes. What a fun colour to add to your wardrobe!

I like the dress worn semi-open as a topper, I have seen similar stylings. The loafers are fun, as long as they are comfy I would go for them. However, it wouldn't hurt to order the slingbacks to compare. You could try the sandals, too, however sandals vs. the loafer pumps would not be a direct comparison for me, as I would wear them in different weather for different purposes.

suntiger- great idea, jos not sure what to wear as a top?
Tanya- definitely different purposes. Loafers could be all year office shoes, sling back are more limited as office and dressy shoes for summer, and sandals would be for weekends and vacation. Ha ha maybe I need all 3.

Ohhh I love this! I really like the loafers, they seem practical and wearable to work and around town, and just a bit different from your usual fare but not totally out of your wheelhouse (sort of like your white boots). If they're comfortable, I vote keep. I agree that the other shoe possibilities are for different situations/occasions.

I like the pants and dress as you have styled them here quite a bit. Almost-matchy column in a new silhouette seems, again, like you but just a bit different. I also like the styling suggestions you are getting from others, but to my eye they are "and" rather than "instead."

To your question about what kind of top to wear under the unbuttoned dress: navy and white striped tee?

Don’t think there is enough room for a t-shirt under the dress, but maybe tank top or a cami? (which I don’t own but seems more and more as a wardrobe hole)

To me, the dress is a bit tight for this silhouette to work but can be worn completely unbuttoned with a top/t-shirt underneath.

Maybe someone has mentioned it already, but do you have white or cream pants to sub for the green ones? I love the shoes! And I’m thinking of your recent successful pale neutral with bright combos.

I think the shoes are great ! I would personally wear them as an accent or third colour rather than in an all-matching way. Navy or tan /cream/ivory or any earth tone would be nice alternatives . I could see these with a cognac pant and lime green /purple print top (to match the shoes). I *do* like your styling of the dress over the pants but think the dress is a little snug for the look .

Go too far with lime green? Never! But I may be biased on this point
I adore the shoes! Absolutely wear this outfit with the dress open (I think any basic white tee or tank underneath could work?). Also wear the shoes with neutrals. Try the pants and shoes with a white, striped or patterned shirt!

I also love your lime outfit! The loafers do seem more you than the bling flats, which I personally would wear in a heartbeat!

I love those shoes! You have high comfort with bold colour so I think you can pull this off. I would find it "too much" for me but then I think denim counts as a pop of colour so there you go Horses for courses!

I also think you have fabulous remixing suggestions in this thread! And those shoes will be very versatile for you I think.

I love this! I love styling dresses like this, as long as it's comfortable (sometimes I don't like the feeling of too much fabric around the hips).

Actually, I love the whole outfit. I like the way the slightly darker shoes ground things, and I really like the dress worn the way you have it, half unbuttoned like an innerwear trench. I think the colors are bright but harmonious, therefore not "too" anything.

I love the shoes. I'm with those who suggest wearing the dress fully open with striped top beneath. I would also wear the shoes with navy, white, cream, etc. etc.

I am nodding along with lots of other replies: I would wear that dress open with something underneath. The shoes look fab! I say keep, as long as they are comfortable. If it feels good to wear bright lime from head to toe, then go for it! Angie wears brights this way and feels and looks fab, so why not :)?

Shoes look fab with it too! Only you know if they are comfy enough

Personally, I'd wear the dress and pants as is. Add a white lace camisole, white pearls, white shoes, light blue bag, and wear my light blue specs.
