K/R - good addition to travel capsule?

These are the Royal Robbins Discovery Capri pants. I almost didn't order them because I thought they looked awful in the offical pictures, but they were marked down to 20€ and I thought I could always cut the legs off and hem them if the top part fit right. But now that they are here I don't think they look that bad - somehow the cut seems to work better on my figure. The waist fits great, no gaping in the back at all and the fabric is fairly nice too. And because I'm only 5' 3" they are a bit longer on me so I think the length looks more like the current cropped pants out there.

What do you think? Am I right? Would you keep them, especially for the price? And if yes, would you leave them as they are or would you hem them? Thanks.

I would keep them because they seem to fit you very well (a well fitting pant is very rare!). I like them as they are, but this of course is just my personal taste.

I'd be inclined to keep them - I think the length looks good. Did you try on some shoes with them?

The fit looks very good. How is the quality? My experience with Royal Robbins has been very good., with very good quality.

They fit you very well and the length is perfect, so I'd say definite keepers.

I vote keep as well, esp if they fit you in the waist as well as it sounds like they do. I've had several Royal Robbins items over the years and they are great quality. Great travel pieces too... generally wrinkle free, and quick drying.

Thanks for the input, everyone! I think I'm going to keep them. The quality seems to be alright, fine for a few weeks of travel in any case. I might have to reattach one of the buttons, but that's okay. And I didn't try them with shoes yet. I definitely still want some long trekking pants and plan to wear my trekking shoes with those and these pants here more with casual shoes around town. Those Josef Seibels arrive in the mail tomorrow, I'll try them with the pants.

They look good to me. I have a pair of black capris that are a similar length (although I can't find them this summer - did I give them away? but why would I have done that?)

Thanks Angie - I won't be able to wear them with booties though! I know you can't see much in the pics because they're black, but these are lightweight and breezy pants for spring and summer. They're gear, made out of material that is supposed to dry quickly. I think heavy boots would look very strange! I plan to wear them when it's warm, probably with sandals or other spring shoes.
