K/R - A Tale of Two Dresses - YouLookFab Forum

So, after Mr. Postman arrived today, I had 12 dresses to try on. Ten of them shall not be seen as they didn't pass DH (or me for that matter).

Looking for 9.5s or better. I really am being picky now as I learned how many clothes I do have!

So, here is the tale of the two survivors, who may both be cut yet!

Pic #1 - Max & Cleo dress. I have been eyeing it for months, and finally pulled the trigger. It has SLEEVES! It is a faux wrap, so I cannot make the top less revealing except popping a cami underneath it.

Pic#2 - Eileen Fisher I have been stalking since it was introduced. I love the fabric!! The feel of it is amazing, but DH hates it without a belt. Um, yeah, after seeing the picture I know why!

Are either of these a 9.5 or better, or should I return them both? (I wonder how many returns Amazon and Nordies allow before they cut you off! - I always return in pristine condition, and usually within 7 days of receiving, but I think my return rate is close to 90%)

I think you should keep #1. It is S T U N N I N G!

#2 is a pretty dress but I don't think it's a 9.5:( It works better when you add the belt as it creates better definition, but I am just seeing too much fabric and it's not as crisp and sleek as #1.

I'm a spanner. I don't much care for the pattern in #1, it's overwhelming you.

I do like the EF with a belt and I think the color is lovely on you.

I quite like #2 with the belt - the color is pretty on you and the neckline flattering. #1 looks good as well and will be office appropriate with a cami.

I like #1 with a cami (or maybe I am a prude?) and #2 with the belt but you have a lot of spectacular dresses so it is hard for me to say if either of these merits a place in your closet.

#1 is cut quite low. Are you ok with that? As much as I love Eileen Fisher, I think you can do better. The wrap and fit and flare dress styles are sooo fab on you. These both look good on you but are not 9.5s to my eye.

I think I am going to return both. Neither of these holds up to my favorite dress, a dress I happened to wear today.

I think I will keep looking (and hoping Nordies doesn't cut me off!). I want to buy more favorite dresses.

I really like #1, but I support you in returning if you don't feel as fab as in other dresses. Good call! And you just inspired me to pass on a pair of really nice dressy walking shoes (a tad too wide)

I see you've made your decision but thought I would chime in and say I really like #1 and I think the hint of cleavage is great but since you have loads of fab dresses already, this is probably the right choice.
