K/R -- BR Crop Flares -- and do they stretch?

I ordered the BR crop flares upon forum recommendation. I sized down to a 2P (26) from my usual size 4 (27) because I read somewhere that they run a bit big. Well, this resin wash pair, in petite, is TTS. While I can get them on, they do not fit me like the model and when I sit there's some muffin top over the waist. I do like them a lot, and wish I could order the 4P as I really like the length, but now they are completely sold out in 4 (regular or petite). I'm still thinking of keeping them but would not be able to wear them if my weight went up.

So, Keep or Return?

Pics 1-2 -- With booties, including backside. How bad is it?
Pics 3-4 -- Some more stylings. With sandals and my new Chan Luu fringe beaded scarf, which I'm keeping.
Pics 5-7 -- With new Intentionally Blank mules (already sold out, no link or Finds). These have a round square toe and an interesting heel. I'm keeping them, what do you think?
Pic 8 -- The mules with some Mom jeans from a few years ago.

I think they look great. I wish mine were a titch more snug as they do loosen up a little with wear. Love all the footwear too. The mules really add a fresh feel to the mom jeans! You look fab!

Mine loosened up a little with wear, but not a huge amount. I found these jeans TTS too. I would personally go for the size that is comfortable but not tight -- waistbands are the one part that doesn't give a lot with wear. I would try wearing them around the house with tags on for a couple of hours before committing to that size.

If it helps at all, size 4 regular is still available in Canada. I'd be happy to get them for you. Currently on sale for $54Can (no idea how long that will last)... with taxes and exchange would be just under $50 for you.

Oh, and I took my regular size. I find they loosen a bit with wear, but not a lot.

Denise, I ended up keeping the 26P despite a snug fit, and I also kept the 26R, because initially I liked the R fit better. But I am giving the 26R away because it stretches out too much for me -- I do find they stretch out quite a bit, actually. And I'll keep the 26 P. My weight is higher than I would like right now and so they are bit snug, but better on me than the Rs were.

But I also agree with Janet and Elizabeth. Wear them around the house first to see, and if you want a pair happy to facilitate.

In the photos, they LOOK fabulous!

I have the 27R and the 28P. I found they are true to size and agree with Janet that they do not stretch around the waist. Mine stretched out a little around my rear end and slip down a little on both pairs but I could not go down a size in either the R or P.
I think that yours look good in the photos and if they are comfortable after test driving them around the house keep them.

They are excellent from the front and will be likewise so in back with the tiny bit of stretch others have predicted.

I struggled with getting the right size on mine. I never had a pair of BR jeans before so I had to do a few exchanges but I ended up keeping the smaller size. I wore them for a bit in the house and they did stretch. I'm so happy I kept the smaller size. I wore them for the first time this weekend and they were really comfortable.

I think they look really good on you in the pictures.

I love mine, but I couldn't size down. I find that mine "give" a bit, but they don't stretch like Kuts or Old Navy do. I would say I get a bit of ease after the first hour or so --- and I like that they never bag out.

They look good and seem to be the perfect length. You have cute shoes that look good with them. I got 28R and they fit well. I had to cut off an inch and maybe that wasn't enough but I have a tendency to overdo things so I'm trying to be careful.

They look great, and the length looks just right to me. I would lean toward keeping them, as they aren't that expensive (as jeans go). If they were $200 jeans, I'd be more inclined to size up for longevity. And especially since they're sold out in the next size up (unless you take up ElizabethP on her offer--and even then, you don't know that size is going to work).

I love all the outfits with them! The new scarf and mules are very cool.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I like them a lot like I said. I ordered two pairs of cropped jeans from Rag & Bone via Shopbop and like these much better! I can't remember how much they were, I think they were between $50-75 all in. So a bargain to me, as I usually purchase premium denim. (The fabric feels high quality on these.)

Elizabeth thanks for the offer to order from Canada. If they were a 4P I might jump. The regulars I know will be too long and I don't feel like messing with the perfect length of the 2P. So I think I'll stick with these.

I frequently find a 27 is too big, this size always slides down. But a 26 feels tight in the waist when I sit down, so I use a rubber band or black hair tie when I need to. Cheating I know but with so many loose tops it works.

Unfortunately the 4s are the only size of petites that are gone from the Canadian site. I'll try to remember to check back just in case, but I suspect they are gone. These ones DO look good on you, so I'm glad you can make them work.

I was between two sizes and decided to stick with the smaller. The next size up looked too loose in the leg which never happens to me! I wore mine around the house a few times and decided they were comfortable enough. Hope they work out for you.

They look fab on you! They will certainly loosen a bit, but as Janet said, not so much in the waistband. Smart to use a rubber band! If you are comfortable with a fit that might be a tad snug, I vote keep.

#3-4 is so fresh with the orange sandals and your new scarf. The scarf will be a noce accessory for summer.

I would hold out for a 4P in case it comes back in stock. They do look like great jeans but I think you would be happier on the whole with a 4P and you don't want to start out of the gates with something uncomfortable.

ETA: Sorry, I see there is quite a bit of advice that they stretch and that you already decided! That's the trouble of trying to grab a couple of minutes to jump on the forum between interruptions. It's a great look on you!

So interesting how different our perceptions of stretch are. I found the regulars did "bag out" on me -- but maybe this is because they were not the right size to begin with?

So far, the Ps have not bagged out; they did give a bit.

It is interesting, isn't it Suz. Mine do not "bag out", but they do "give". They become sort of molded and comfy.
