K/R -- Are Vince knit tops worth it?

I've been sitting on these, got these from Nordstrom's half yearly sale. Even on sale, these tees are pricey (between $62-$73 each). I've never owned any Vince knit items. Both of these are 100% Rayon, dry clean or hand wash only. In my experience, Rayon items do not hold up to washing well. But maybe Vince items are an exception. If you think their quality is worth it, and these tops will look decent after hand washing, I will keep them.

Is this unflattering from the back? Honestly my rear is not THAT flat. I also got the Report Marks booties, love them! So they're not in question.

Can you remove the tag from the back of the white one? I don't mind it being visible, but it isn't placed in the best spot. Sorry, I've never owned a Vince item to know how they wear.

The tops look nice, Denise. A knit is a knit - quality is unpredictable. Vince is no better than the Gap in my opinion. Could be fab or awful. Just can't tell how they will wear

They look really good, although maybe a little big. If the $ is worth it, keep. Otherwise, I think you could find equal quality for lesser $...

i would probably get a cheaper version from the gap or even jcrew. this from someone who owns a bunch of vince.

while I think these look great on you, I don't think its worth the money. I have seen many simular ones at MUCH cheaper price. When it comes to knits such as these, i don't buy pricy ones because i have learned the hard way-most of the time, quality is no different that the ones I buy at local Jeans Wearhouse for $14. Honestly.

I do think the Gap (Gap Body in particular) looks pretty similar but those drape nicely. No help on the quality but I agree that rayon in general only holds up for a couple of seasons.

Hmm, I'm not sure. I always admire the styling of Vince knits but they do seem flimsy to me so I've never pulled the trigger. I do love my Vince jeans though!

Style-wise, I prefer the pink but I have a poisoned eye for visible center front seams (like on the white) so I'm not really a reliable judge.

I think they look very nice but agree that they may NOT hold up well to washing and similar items can be had for a more lower price. I love those booties on you! Look great with the yellow skinnies!

I ordered a Vince tunic a few weeks ago but returned it because the quality didn't seem worth the expense compared to my Gap knits. That said, there is Nordstrom's excellent return policy should they not wash well.

If you're looking to spend that kind of money on knits, take a look at Lanston tops and tanks at Revolveclothing.com and piperlime.com. I have a Lanston knit maxi dress and the knit is a bit heavier and feels more "worth" the money I paid.

To be honest, while I love the coral/ pink top, I'm not crazy about the back view of #1. It's the seam that would drive me nuts. I may be odd about this, though, so take my view for what it is worth!

Wow that's a lot of money for a flimsy knit top--no matter how great the design looks on you (which is fab, BTW). I'd look at TJMaxx/Marshalls for the same feel/shape for something under $20.

Is this Vince Camuto? Although I like the brand's style, I've not been that impressed with the quality of the knits. Honestly, I wouldn't spend that much - unless I'm totally in love with a color or shape I'd go to Gap or Old Navy and find something similar for a lot cheaper, because these tissue knits seem to self-destruct by the end of a season.

I might actually go investigate the tank. I've been looking for a drapey white tank forever. I own a fair amount of Vince but not their t-shirts or tanks.

I have a sweater from Vince that is holding up well, but I don't think I'd spring for either of these: they just look sort of ho-hum, if I'm being blunt, in terms of fit, cut, and materials.

Thanks for the advice! Honestly I was expecting better quality, better fabrication in particular. My fear is, I will have spent $135 plus tax on these two and they will not hold up. And after posting this, I could hear Angie saying, don't spend too much on knits.

Claire, I did check TJ Maxx last night and could not find any comparable knits, they were all of inferior quality to these. I'm going to try Gap, thanks for the suggestion!

(This must be the tank everyone's thinking of. Looks just like the Vince one, only $12.99 vs. $72.90. Yikes!)

What have you decided? They both look great however I don't know the brand so can't comment on quality. They are pricey for what they are IMO, however if they wear and wash well they could be worth the $$$.

Deborah -- here's my plan. I'm going to be near major retail stores for only the third time in 2012 on Tuesday! (Watch out no one better get in my way!) I will check out the tops at Gap. The Vince tees are most likely going back to Nordstrom just a few steps away from Gap.

As I said the fabric is quite thin and they aren't even made in the USA like Splendid or Three Dots knits. This is my first experience with the Vince brand and my impression is, over-rated *based on these tops.*
