K/P: maternity top as dress edition

I am cleaning out my closet and storing/giving away maternity clothes (baby is almost one year old now).

This is actually a maternity top (and fit like a top too, back when I had a huge belly). But it occurred to me that it might work ok now as a rather boxy sweater dress. It had a self-tie belt but I never really used it. I styled it here with leggings and booties. It is a super comfy combination.

Thoughts? Too dated, too short? JFE?

I think I'm alone in this because I've seen a lot of people in youlookfab prefering a boxy siluette, but yes, I prefer more structure. It doesn't look dated or too short, and I'm guessing it looked fabulous when you were pregnant because of the tighter siluette. It looks ok but I just don't see it doing anything for your body. Hope this didn't come out as rude but I'm thinking you can wear a lot of more fabulous options.

I think it looks quite mod. The armholes are a little big, but how often are you standing like that, lol. This looks like a superior "work at home" outfit, and easy for school drop-off's and pick-up's, too.

I like it! Great gently boxy fit, and with the larger sleeves like that I prefer this roomier fit than if it were more fitted. Looks good with the tights and boots. I vote yay and JFE.

Mimi- Yes, this is definitely less bodycon than my preferred style (OK, my husband's pref too..). But I guess I am being tugged in that direction by YLF. Not offended at all!
Kristen SF- yes, it does have a bit of a mod look. Also not my usual style which is why I decided to put it to the YLF test. I can't tell if it's mod cool or mod yuck. Since I do work from home and do mostly preschool and grocery runs, sounds about right. And it is super comfy.
Aida- Thanks! Most of my dresses are quite fitted or structured. I do agree that this would be a very different look (less arty and more tartly?) if it were very tight AND mini-dress length (which it pretty much is since it wasn't designed as a dress).

I like it. You could even layer a blouse underneath it and turn it into a tunic if you like.
