I'm not going to get into a lot of backstory, but I'd decided it wasn't worth the hassle of going through paperwork and a lot of bother for an investigation. Then about a month ago the CC company called ME and asked why they hadn't heard back from me about the claim I had started. I told them I had decided to let it go, but they encouraged me to continue with it. Rather than need to bring the shoes in person to an expert to confirm authenticity, all I needed to do was to contact any RV store and get an email or something comfirming that this online company wasn't a legit reseller.

(I'll add here that I sat on this for weeks...it's embarrassing, but I was so stressed out about calling RV in New York City...was intimidated. I figured they were really snobby and would be patronizing or dismissive....whatever! Ridiculous, right?)

Well, finally tonight, because I have to have this wrapped up in less than a month, I just called now. The salesperson was very nice and gave me their corporate number to call during regular hours tomorrow.

And no, the shoes are not real Roger Viviers because they don't sell any shoes online, according to him.

My CC company had said I could even keep the shoes if they were fakes, and get the refund. So win all around, on something I had been ready to give up on out of laziness and typical overwhelm. And the discomfort of calling this silly boutique. As some of you know, I'm confronting some anxiety this week and pushing myself into, through and past it. In theory, anyway.

Yay. I will have the extra $240 to spend on something I can really use. So don't be like me--be proactive!
