Knickers Post C-section

Can anyone recommend underwear that won’t bunch up between my c-section scar and my tummy? The only solution I’ve found is waist-high briefs, but those show over the waistband of some of my pants and skirts. Anyone else have this problem? Or found a good solution? (The c-sections were years ago, so the scars are completely healed.)

I'm sorry Emily, I don't have any great suggestions for you I'm afraid ... but wonder if a hipster style might be better? I remember when I was healing (many years ago now), this style worked because it didn't come anywhere near the scar ... might not be any help, sorry; hope you get some good ideas from others!

I was also going to suggest hipster ones but I suppose it depends how low your scars are. They do them quite low and horizontally now, so perhaps that isnt the best type.

Hipster undies were what I wore and do again with my glucose meter. They are available in cotton with lace. High waists end up bunching in the wrong place. Be sure to get a shingles shot. You do not want to add that to the problem. Do you have internal scar tissue? If I stretch on one side, mine ( internal scar tissue) is still very painful after 40 years.

The ones that bunch... are they cotton? I’m wondering if the fabric is the issue...

It’s a dilemma to be sure. My hysterectomy scar runs from my belly button all the way down and is very easily irritated. The only thing a bit comfortable are jockey French cut in cotton but they are really long and I am not tall so are above the pant line.

Joy - I am wondering about the shingle shot - does surgery make one more prone to shingles or in general?

Thank you! My scars are very low so hipsters sink into the crease and bunch up. Unflattering and uncomfortable. Joy- thank you! I will be sure I’ve had the shot. I don’t have pain, but 10 years later the area still feels numb and sensitive. Racheylou, yes, maybe cotton is part of the problem. Glory- I’ll check out the jockey French cut. Thank you!

I also suggest a wide lace waistband. I wear these from Maidenform. For what it's worth, I had numbness and tingling for years after my (2) C-sections. But now that you mention it, the numbness is finally gone, and scar is barely visible. My youngest is 15. Fingers crossed that yours diminishes in the future.

I also like wide waistband that goes little above the scar and hold the tummy area in. Not a c-section but abdominal surgery 26 years ago.
