Hello, first-time poster here.
I'd love to receive some advice on where to find a perfect summer coat for rainy days:
It should be a knee length (or hitting slightly below the knee) light coat or trench, preferably in a neutral or summer-bright color with a silhouette reminiscent of a wrap dress.
I'm a hourglass / pear figure type and have recently discovered that knee length wrap dresses suit me the best (thanks, YLF!) so I bought a lot of them for the summer, but have now no stylish way to cover them up when the weather is acting up. I'd like to play it safe and have the coat just fully cover the dress but still have about the same shape as the dress - the lazy girl's way to a smart-looking outfit.
The perfect summer coat would also have a swingy skirt that would allow freedom of movement and accommodate my hips but be either nipped in at the waist or have a belt.
It would also offer a clean streamlined optic - so no crashed effect, no ruffles, etc.
I just can't seem to find the right length and fit anywhere:
- Trench coats are all too short because even if they are advertised as knee-length they usually end mid calf;
- Summer coats aren't too dressy or if they are then they are too boxy (and short);
- And if they aren't too short and boxy, they have ruffles or other unnecessary details.
So, to all fellow dress lovers out there: Does this perfect coat exist? And if it doesn't: What do you pair your dresses with (office attire) in the summer?
Hoping to hear from you soon!
